There will be no hybrid or electric Type R in the near future. Honda already said they will not build one in either platform. I remember now why I don’t frequent this forum lots of daydreamers
go troll somewhere else dude. There’s been a few interviews of Honda engineers that have mentioned electrification of the type R. I’d prefer it stay ICE, definitely ing not “daydreaming” of electrification!

Lmfao keep smoking that glass 🍆 Riddle me this QuickDraw since Japan makes the Type R who do you think is going to make it? You think they are going to make it for just a couple of markets? The world is changing the ICE combustion engine Type R is finished. And yes I hope and agree that something is probably a few years away but a different platform. If you choose to insult me expect it back 💩🧠🧠🧠🧠
I agree there are many signs pointing to the end of FL5 production globally, but nothing is official and we don’t know what Honda’s plans are. Yeah, they could continue to produce cars for a few months for other markets (just not Japan nor EU). What’s cute is that you jumped into this convo with non-facts then get mad when someone calls you out on your BS. Enjoy that champ.👶

This is correct. They said the next Type R could be anything, including a hybrid. There was nothing definite except the top engineer (for the Type R team) felt he pushed the current platform/powerplant as much as he could while maintaining reliability, cost, and of course meeting regulatory requirements for multiple regions. At this point no one knows what the next Type R will be, but it won’t likely be the same as what we have now.

Got this response today. Why would Honda make a MY26 only to sell in North America? I don’t think so.

A may be in the minority but an electric type r would be amazing. Especially if they can make a fake manual shifter. I know ford is currently working on that.

All used car values are up at the moment. Upgraded my wife from a CX9 to a new Pilot a month too early.

Nothing wrong with a hybrid CTR as long as the weight isn't crazy. If anything, I look forward to the hybrid CTR more compared to the current turbo formula

I fell like it wont be the same experience.
The turbo experience is much different compared to the old Type-R/Performance we fell in love with back in the day

Things have been changing and we need to accept it. Performance isn't Honda's top priority but even for companies like Porsche which is known for performance/experience, they are changing.

I trust Honda can put together something great when they put in the effort.

Everything ? I don't know what I'm missing but I haven't seen anything that's pointing to MY26.
Your screenshot and the response you got from Switzerland is news we got back in early summer. North America/US hasn't received any news. Everyday that goes by is good news for us

Hyundai's current 5N and upcoming 6N have established the bench mark for such fake ICE and fake manual can be fun. The last hurdle for EV to be spots car-like fun is battery weight. Hopefully that too will be overcome within the next 5 years. 🤞
