I don't recall that car ever being released. Honda mentioned it in connection with the FL5 setting a lap record for front-wheel-drive vehicles around the Nürburgring and it's been radio silence since.
They were released, just no global announcement made on availability. Clients that had a FL5 on order and had a good relationship with their dealer were offered the chance to upgrade their order to the S-Grade others had to get lucky.

I’m pretty positive it was. But Honda only had to make like 10(?) for the Euro market, for it to be called a “production car” for the ICE, FWD, production car, N-ring record. I could’ve sworn at least one person chimed in here who got one of them or saw where someone got one.

Interesting. I recall @CTR1633FK2 had one on order and canceled after not getting much information from the dealership. This post has some info on specs. These things tend to have a way of making it to FB and IG, and I haven't seen anything.

Yeah, it’s funny how little info has been available. Something tells me they got snatched up mostly by collectors, never to be seen again. We’ll probably see them on auction blocks in 10-20 years.?

The FK8 was ALSO capless, I am curious why they went back to caps on the FL5.
The FK8 shared the same quarter panel as the factory Civic whereas the FL5 has a custom quarter panel that would have required a bunch more qualification for the gas cap. At least this is my understanding.

You can still order a S-grade at the dealership here in Europe. It is a stripped down version (no A/C etc.), but no performance upgrades according to the dealership. So, same engine, same suspension, tires, brakes. The price is around 7k euro higher. So, why bother?

I can also do that myself, removing the A/C and that does not cost me 7000 euros. It is then more or less the same as the S grade version. :)

But then you dont get to tell people you bought a S-Grade FL5. The bragging rights alone are worth at least $7k euros... :headbang:

The S stands for "stupid" because you paid 7k more for a car with less features :)

Unless the titanium exhaust is really that expensive sounds like VW is doing the same. Less for more

For purists, the Euro Style Package offers fabric seats, sunroof delete, and an Akrapovič® titanium exhaust for enhanced engine acoustics that weighs 15 pounds less than the standard system, available for an additional $3,795.
