This thread is very helpful to me getting a sense of its relative used market value. I am currently looking for a very lightly used FL5 CTR in red or white. Looking for used because I want to take advantage of my home state's tax policy in that its normal 8.7% rate is exempted on used car purchased from a private party.

I was also looking for a used red 2023+ CTR. Dealers were basically unwilling to budge/negotiate off basically their advertised price, which was barely a discount off current MSRP. One guy on Facebook marketplace was advertising his used one for $47k, also unwilling to budge (I offered $44k and he still said no, insane). He delisted his car so I think he is just keeping it.

In short, the avoidance of tax would be awesome in your case, but you'll basically spend nearly the same price of a new one at MSRP, at least for the color red. Many Championship White 2023+ CTRs can be had at low 40s, at least on the east cost

Got a text from Norm Reeves HB today. They came back with $64,415.91 out the door.

It's kind of funny because their original number was $72K, speaking of ridiculous numbers. 😆

Wow - That's still like a $12k markup assuming you live in LA county and your sales tax is close to 10%...CRAZY! That makes my $2k over look like a smoking deal 2.5 months ago! With those crazy markup, just go with a DE5 ITS!

I'm debating either out of state or honestly just buying used. I've been finding some decent deals with less than 10K miles in the used market. Guess a lot of people either couldn't afford it after the fact or the FL5 wasn't all what they thought it was.

Are you set on a specific color? Motoring Obsession currently shows a bunch of CW and BBP in SoCal. Continue looking or wait toward the end of the month. Nobody was budging on their pricing when I call at the beginning of the month. Then when I was about to give up like you, I start getting return calls at the end of the month and that's when I got my deal. So, be patient and stick to your number!

I'm either leaning towards Championship White or Rallye Red. I've actually been using that and calling the dealers with allocations.

Definitely probably couldn’t afford it I’m sure . All of us in The FL5 brotherhood love them . And it only leaves those that don’t have one and those that wish they did and try to satisfy there needs by text price shopping 🤪
When your ready and serious you should go down there and I’m sure you’ll get a more realistic price and deal instead of text messaging a salesman or via phone calls.
Unless of course your working deals out of state .
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going text shop some gears on my FL5 😆👍🏻👊🏻

Hope it works out for you lol doesn’t sound like it thus far . I only called to make sure they had the car and went there to negotiate not on the phone or via text messages 🙄

I have a relationship with Norm Reeves HB, I buy from them all the time. Some times you can get a deal done, some times it doesn't pan out. Just because it did for you doesn't mean it will be like that for someone else or happen like that every time.

I'm surprised your 6mt sport touring isn't helping you much. That is probably rarer than an FL5 and they would love to bend someone else over reselling it.

I messaged my guy at Honda every month or two at the end of the month for a year and a half asking if he had any MSRP Type Rs until he finally told me to bring my SI down. That trade helped the deal get done. They probably jacked up the price on it.

Good luck and stay diligent.

I usually try to talk numbers first and then trade, what I'll put down and everything after. Maybe next time I'll lead with that and see what they say.

I imagine many of the private sellers were early adopters that had to fight through hell and/or paid upward of $50k to $70k to get theirs. So I understand their reluctance to sell theirs at a price that is reflective of current new car prices. I will just have to be patient for the right one to come along.
