I don't think I could ever recommend being a mechanic or working with family to anybody but it does come with some perks. Low stress and easy work days aren't on that list but tires and brakes are lol.

Those perks keep several race dollars available for other things that cost race dollars!

That’s why when I sold my Miata and bought the Civic I felt like I should get a raise ?. Now I’m back in another Miata tho so I’m good where I’m at haha.

I'll keep being a solution architect lol. Mechanics are very underrated with how complicated cars are getting.

I hope in the not so distant future I can have the place and funds to buy a used Miata for track days.

Guys, let’s stop asking each other how much sh!t costs. It’s the new don’t ask, don’t tell program here. If you break the rules, you get banned.

Bar and plate intercoolers are likely the cause of overheating on a race track. They simply block too much air.
I have been saying this was the root cause. It will lead to more consistent power for longer BUT you have to do ALL the cooling mods to make it work

The V730 after it's heat cycled a couple of times is a fantastic tire. I went for a ride with one of my buddies in the instructor group with his GTI and the V730's were spectacular! I'm thinking about grabbing a set myself!
Was it a MK7 GTI that did a 2:11 in a stock turbo car with basic bolt-ons? he's definitely moving out there.

That's the guy! His name is Tony. He's one of my track buddies! He was on a pretty spicy tune for that lap!

From reading what his tune was, it really wasn't that spicy. It was really more like what a tuner would have done, but it was definitely more than he usually does. But the sweet thing is that he tunes it himself on the fly.

Definitely has that driver mod going for him

He took me out with him for a few laps last weekend. He can wheel the hell out of that car. I was flying around in the passenger seat!

Funny enough, I work for one of the worlds largest CyberSecurity companies and they give us a quarterly amount of $250 that we can use on just about anything including car stuff as it falls into the Hobby category. That is as close as I get to work paying for consumables...

Ha I used to get that with VMware. Now Broadcom offers nothing. Except RSU. It's quite a change.

I've decided to burn up my ps4s before getting a new set of 18" wheels and tires. Might as well, already have them. Buying a speedibleeder today or tomorrow. I'm sick of my mighty vac setup.

I spent almost 7 years at vmware (2011-2018). It’s sad to see what has become of it.

Is anyone running speed bleeders? I haven’t checked to see if they have one that fits but they are great for one person brake fluid changes.
