This past event for me hurt my feelings. It was at least 2 grand for 3 days. 750 for the event, 523 for hagerty insurance, 450 for Airbnb and then gas!

And the consumables you go through!

y'all can take a page out of my book and track a 5k beater that I totally didn't dump 10k into to make it trackable... that way you don't have to bother with track insurance (he says as he sits here trying to talk himself out of buying an FL5)

We started talking in Race Dollars to confuse our wives but I think an added benefit is it confused us as well. Every $100 you spend is equal to one Race Dollar. After using it long enough you can tell yourself the weekend only cost 20 Race Dollars and somehow you feel better than saying $2000.

June might be a little quick for the psychological affects to take place but if it were in August you'd definitely be able to convince yourself that you have 20 Race Dollars laying in the couch cushions. Just give it time to sink in!

Absolutely! Example- the last time I paid to have a car towed to NJMP it cost me 6 Race Dollars in 2022. Last weekend it was only 8 Race Dollars. I mean, is there even a difference between the numbers 6 and 8?!?

Just race car things. My wife and dog come along so I tow our camper and have a race shop bring the car. Works out well but gets pricey. I'm in Northern Virginia and the shop that tows it is in West Virginia. Between fuel and toll prices the trip up 95 isn't cheap.

I wish lol. Transport was 8 Race Dollars, test day and race weekend were 8.5 Race Dollars, fuel to get there and run the car was probably 3 race dollars. Thankfully work pays for the consumables. So similar to others a weekend at the track was about 20 Race Dollars. Typing this makes me realize why I quit racing and bought the FL5 lol.
