I bought the yellow Powerflex insert for my transmission mount. I chose it because I don’t want a lot of vibration and noise like I’ve read about with other mounts, but I also don’t want to pay $30K for the Spoon ones just because🤣🤣!

Does anyone here have that setup in their car? I’m looking to improve the shift feel a little bit, but I’m not sure if the vibration is really as bad as people make it sound. I’ve also noticed that almost everyone swaps the suspension module for the Type S one, but maybe I’m just used to older cars and already think mine feels pretty good.

For reference, I already have the Hybrid Racing detent springs, Acuity cable bushings, and the shifter base bushings installed, and it feels pretty solid so far. I’m just wondering if this upgrade will hit that “soft spot” I might be missing.

If U can reliably find a shop that’ll be cool with pressing it. Why not? Obviously a press on can’t compare to a full mm. But maybe the lessened nvh is exactly wha you’re after if the stock unit with its void sucks

The insert just sits in, and fills the voids of the OEM mount. No shop, no press required.

I did a Powerflex insert on a Focus I once owned, and it was an economical alternative to a more solid mount.

the reality of an aftermarket RMM (in my opinion) in our FL5/DE5 is that the NVH isn’t much at all. After a couple hundred miles I forget it is even there. Cold engine startup it can be felt for a minute or so.

Oh that’s cool! Had no idea. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.

If this a daily driver and you expect it to last a long time, the following would be best to worst order for OEM upgrade.

Harder Rubber > poly Insert > full Polyurethane bushing.

Polyurethane is great for a track car that swaps out parts often and gets maintenance pretty much every run. BUT polyurethane cold forms over time and doesn't hold lube well.. Depending on quality/design and location of the poly bushings, many last about a year and then the benefits degrade until common symptoms of noises like clunking/ squeaking/rattle and erratic behavior. Some aftermarket companies say rubber is bad because it cracks and rots, but they neglect to mention that's usually well beyond a decade later.

Save your money and use the inserts. Enjoy!

PowerFlex inserts in a FL5 RMM versus the Wunderladen RMM. I don't own a FL5 😭

Don’t worry about it, but it’s good to see it side by side. I was also eyeing the Wunderladen version of the RMM because I don’t know if not being so big also helps with vibration. Then again, I’m used to old cars, and I really don’t feel that my car is too bumpy in any of the modes. Also, the roads where I live aren’t that bad.

really? To me +R was undrivable anywhere, the car was a pogo stick now much better with the Type S ADS, actually feels great on track on +R.

To me I felt the RMM did nothing but increase NVH. I don't launch the car though but shifting feels the same to me, I have the hasport.
Some people swear by it and best thing since sliced bread, to me it I rarely notice anything.

I drive it in all the modes and really don’t feel what people complain about. I even had my wife sit in the car without telling her anything, and on +R mode she didn’t even realize the car was stiffer or bouncy. That’s why I don’t understand the point of the module, but the part I live on Texas the roads aren’t bad so that’s probably why too. I’m going to do the insert because I did it on my Evo X something similar, and the shifter feel was a little bit more direct, but not like people sometimes make it out to be like it’s the best thing since sliced bread like you said.

Bro that’s crazy. +R is something I’d never dare cut on. Ever. It’s a trampoline fest. Worse than a focus rs and that says a lot. And I’m not sensitive to it either. I can put my type s into sport plus and it’s fine. Not comfy but fine.

tried +r once in the fk8 and immediately was impressed by the difference in suspension feel but turned it off forever till I was on track. Even on track +r is pretty fucked but it did return better exit speeds imo

I really don’t feel the difference much, but then again, all I’ve ever owned before were older cars. My Evo X was “bouncy,” but this one isn’t as bad as some people probably make it sound, in my opinion. The suspension is tight and feels really precise, but as for the excessive bounce, I’m not sure I can actually tell the difference. That’s why I don’t fully understand the Type S module, but maybe if I tried it, I would notice something different. I didn’t get this car to have it feel like any other car anyway I really like the way it feels.

My only complaint about the PowerFlex inserts was the strong vibration at idle with AC on. Sitting at a stop light with AC running, I saw the top of the infotainment screen vibrating/rocking back-and-forth. 😬

Nop I live towards central Texas, when I go to DFW is always on my wife SUV a Ford Edge ST that also had a stiff suspension there are areas that are really bad, but I’m originally from Puerto Rico I don’t think any roads here will be as bad as the roads there 😂 probably that’s why I’m insensitive to bad roads because I really been to some bad ones 😂.

I will try it if I don’t like it I go back to stock I really like the car however it feels now. I’m going to try and go from there.
