So I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not I want spacers or wheels with a wider offset due to the potential impact on the driving characteristics of the car. But now that honda is offering a +45 offset wheel, I feel a bit more comfortable going for it. is it safe to say the impact would be negligible if any at all? Especially given that most of the track builds I’ve seen even have wheels sitting flush with the fenders.
It’s not the spacer itself that changes the handling characteristics of the car, it’s the change in effective offset that the spacer creates. In other words, the FL5 was designed and engineered for the OEM wheels and the OEM accessory wheels (forged alloy) with a +60 offset. A wheel with a different offset will effectively have the same effect as running a wheel spacer that replicates the same offset. So, in purely geometric terms, a wheel + spacer combination behaves the same as a wheel of the same effective offset.
^this, doesn't matter if you add a spacer or buy wheels with a different offset, it'll impact roughly the same.

That said, it isn't a big deal. I can't say it's not noticeable, but it's just... not a big deal. You get used to it after about a day of driving. In fact at this point, I just switched back to my OEM wheels for winter and there's a far bigger difference from changing tires than there is from changing offset IMO.

This coming from a guy who shared your exact sentiment. You can probably find words very similar to yours in my post history from about 18 months ago lol.

HRC is set to release performance parts tomorrow. I know a lot of folks have been waiting for this. I'm intrigued...

The only thing Im interested in is the tow strap, coilovers and the BBK.

Is the tow strap supposed to be for the front or rear? I remember doing a deep dive and finding out all of the aftermarket solutions were kinda sucky.

For the coilovers what are these supposed to do thats better than something like the Ohlins? I dont know too much about suspension.

For the BBK what does this do thats different than AP Racing? AP Racing is basically the best stuff we can get so what does the HRC BBK do differently?

Edit: based on that bolt I will assume it’s for the OEM rear location

Likely nothing except cost more money. The suspension appears to be a rebranded KW product, the V3 to be exact. The spring rates are likely "custom", but that doesn't make them any more attractive IMHO. This is a long con folks.

This is good for folks who want to mod and do a "factory" mod list with approved OEM parts. (boring)

Nothing about this excites me, but at least they're trying! I'll at least give them that credit, they are trying to cater to more enthusiasts and this is a good step. Other mfgs have been doing this like Ford Performance, BMW M, Brabus, TRD etc

HRC auto motorsports didn't really start till 2022 so this seems in line with them trying to focus on F1 return in 2026. Using already well known brands and doing "collabs" is somewhat feels like a cheap move but a lot of brands have been doing this nowadays.

I am curious about the KW coilovers and the Philips 66 Oil formulas.

I bet you could call KW and they would be able to tell you what the "custom" spring rates are, and you could likely buy from them for less. I'm with you on this one, I'm just not impressed with the rebranded offerings. I was really hoping for some more....."custom originality".

These will do nothing better than their unbranded aftermarket counterparts. The difference is HRC will provide after sales support for these products if you run into any issues with use or if you need information on tuning. Generally they also provide a longer warranty than if you bought the non-HRC branded counterpart.

The coilovers are just KW V3s, which will likely have proprietary spring rates and damping profiles but, unless you drive the HRC version then the non-branded version you won't really know or can tell the difference. HRC should include error cancellors and price it competitively if they want these to sell well.

The BBK is kind of interesting because it is smaller(rotor diameter) than Brembo's GTS or GTR kit but larger than some of the other BBKs on the market I actually think this will be a bit cheaper than those kits. IF it is competitvely priced then it should do quite well.

Of the few FL5/DE5 owners I've spoken to, they are most excited for the coilovers and BBK. Hopefully they dont price gouge because of branding.

This is why I say Honda has terrible product planners, they should've been leaning seriously into the aftermarket since the late 90s or at least the early 2000s. HPD/HRC could've been as big or bigger than Mugen and Spoon if they actually put some effort into it. Instead they wait til Honda's enthusiast oriented offerings in their line is pretty much at it's lowest count since their inception.

They definitely planning far too safe with their products. Toyota push with GR stuff lately seems good out of the states but they too seem cautious with certain items being released in North America.

If that shifter is the same price as the Acuity one I would buy it over that, I don't love the branding on the Acuity one and like how much more neutral the HRC one is, even if the rest is the same...and it will all be hidden by a shift boot...
