ND miata would be a great car except that its manual transmission is flawed. many 2022 and 2023 6 spd are failing. mine failed at 11k mi. so here i am looking into a FL5. hopefully FL5 manual is better built. You’re hearing it from someone who has driven the FK8 for 55k or so miles. The Miata is the better sports car in my opinion. But that doesn’t detract from the Type R’s merits and what makes it valuable - they’re very different. But what’s more rewarding? To me it’s the Miata. The Type R’a reward for $36k used to be nice, but even that isn’t more rewarding than a Miata. The Miata’s value falls apart if it’s your only car and it’s your grocery getter. The Type R is the best do it all one-car for an enthusiast. But if you own more than one? I can’t see myself getting a FWD econobox turned performance car, than a sports car built as such from the grounds up and the Miata is the best value for that.
Congrats!!! Thats 3 SGPs bought in a row! ?My sales guy hooked me up. Was 2K over MSRP but when I picked the car up, he charged me MSRP. I purchased 3 cars from him just this year 20 total in the last 10 years so Im a good customer

That's awesome! Do you mind me asking which dealership? I've been looking since September and the lowest I can find is 5k over. Thanks!Picked up a Sonic Gray Pearl today for $3k over here in California. They threw in 2 sets of floor mats(all season and red Type R mats) and wheel locks. Pretty straight forward deal. I've never had such a seamless transaction at a dealership.
I opted for 4 yrs of Honda Care just to make it easy for oil changes and scheduled service.
I figure since 2024 MSRP will increase another $1k, it was a good time to scoop up a late model 2023. This dealer wanted $10k over less than a month ago.

14k on my 2022 and it’s as perfect as it can be. I do have around 1 Million Miles of manual transmission driving experience. I don’t see it failing me, driving stick involves way more than clutch and shift - the timing, the finesse, the road conditions all affect shift quality.ND miata would be a great car except that its manual transmission is flawed. many 2022 and 2023 6 spd are failing. mine failed at 11k mi. so here i am looking into a FL5. hopefully FL5 manual is better built.
Probably because the 2023s stopped and now the 2024s are starting to come in. Once the 2024s start ramping up there'll probably be as many as there were before.Just a handful of Type R’s by me in a 50 mile radius. Seems less now than a few months back.
I hope Colorado actually gets some damn Type Rs seems like here we're lucky if a dealer gets one or twoProbably because the 2023s stopped and now the 2024s are starting to come in. Once the 2024s start ramping up there'll probably be as many as there were before.
Honestly I hope no one buys it and it sits until they’re forced to do MSRP. PNW dealers need to come back down to earth.Gresham Honda/Tonkin followed up with me today they have reduce ADM to $7k. I think a local could possibly get $3k or less for a in person easy deal. Peter Byun is who followed up with me straight shooter.
I wish, someone just bought a Boost Blue for $10k over MSRP here, made me die on the inside.Honestly I hope no one buys it and it sits until they’re forced to do MSRP. PNW dealers need to come back down to earth.
I'm not disappointed at all with the purchase with what I paid. With the over allowance on my trade its damn near MSRP and its a dealership I trust and are very transparent. I purchased my 2017 FK8 from them brand new for sticker. Also bought my 2008 Mugen Si well below sticker also brand new.63 cars purchased with the dealer and you still paid a markup?! After all those vehicle purchases, which I'm sure some you traded back in, I'm disappointed to read this. Anyhow, congrats on the purchase and enjoy the car in good health.
