What does the rear camera look like and how does it keep the OEM look in the back? Does it fit in the bottom of the rear window or top? Is it in the center, right, left of the window?
I only have the front camera for my setup. From what it looks like its typical to most rear camera setups where you'd have to mount the rear camera somewhere on the glass, so that would be up to you on where you would mount it.

I have a clip of what the front camera looks like from my car, so I can only assume it'd be similarly detailed for the rear but at 1080.

Its not the best, but it does its job.

Also, here is a good how to, for a clean install for a rear facing camera for the hatch.

Hello all, I thought a few of you would appreciate this. I now have these in all of my vehicles, super easy to work with and they look OEM. The install took about 10 minutes, uses a plug from the upper light panel behind the mirror, and produces pretty good video. The camera has a memory card and a phone app and records sound. Unfortunately I’ve sold the car so I do not have any video to show from it, but there examples on YouTube.

You can purchase the exact kit at this link

How did you get the light panel off?

I had this video saved. It’s not much, but you can see all of the clips and how the upper garnish comes out. It was more difficult to remove that piece than it should have been!

The clips are in the front and it has 3 tabs that lock into the back of the liner. You can not pull the back tabs out until the front is unclipped because they slide forward.

Hopefully the video helps a few people!

How do you run / hide the rear cam wire?
On my truck I routed it thru the headliner around the top of the passenger door. Just kind of pushed it in there where the gasket is.

I have the Ring Dash Cam it is basically garbage. Definitely would not recommend until they work out the issues. Even the Ring Door Cam sucks but I guess that's how it is when you rely on LTE to connect and view video clips.

First generation... I didn't expect much.

I am waiting for one that I really shouldn't... I should get the Thinkware U3000 and be happy with it... But I can't seem to pull the trigger.

Ive had half a dozen dash cams and still cant find a reliable one. Tried cheap ones all the way to Owl Cam, Ring, and Escort which were over $200. Owl Cam was great but they ran out of business. They are running again but I dont trust them. The Escort dash cam is a pain in the ass to access videos.

Do you have any thoughts on the Thinkware U3000?
