Anyone ever run into where the car disappeared from the website? It was in transit for a couple of weeks. I put a deposit in and I've called the dealer. It was supposed to be arriving any day now for the last 5-6 days. I called the dealer and they said they had issues with the transport company. Not sure why it would disappear though.

This happened quite often in the early days. If you search through the thread you will find discussion on it. If memory serves me correctly cars disappearing from the site could be due to a number of reasons like the dealership removing it from inventory. I wouldn't be alarmed just yet.

It generally happens when the dealer removes the car from their inventory due to it being sold.

This. When I put a deposit down on mine because I could not make it into the dealership until the weekend to complete the deal, the car disappeared from the dealer's website the next day. When I tried to go look to the old page via my bookmark, it was marked as SOLD and even that page would go dead a couple of days after that.

Not looking good for me. Honda pulled this out, usually done when a vehicle is damaged. No trace or where it’s at.

Oof! Do you think they will even get close to those numbers at the time of sale?

Mideast/Knowledge as to why the previous owners traded in? Payments? Different type of car?

Likely payments too high, trying to buy house? At least you know your resale is high, but I'm sure a lot of people are upside down on the loans.

Check dealers out of state. Dealers in Northern CA are asking exorbitant mark up. Capitol Honda had one marked up by $14K by adding "upgrades". Steven Creek is asking $8K over, same with other dealers in Southern CA.

Thanks for the updates. I live around there too. I watched a youtube video and there is a broker and i think he charge you $1000 and will negotiate for you. I still have not bough it yet due to my job security. I learned from the youtuber that what ever they ask we can still offer to MSRP or a bit mark up. Cap City Honda used to have fair price but this $14k MU is insane

I would just call around to see what you're comfortable paying for. For me, $2k over MSRP was the maximum that I was willing to pay for the car. My logic is that if I can get it for MSRP out of state, I would still need to pay $1.5k-$2k to ship it back and deal with all the hassle of getting it registered. If I pay somebody $1k to negotiate MSRP, then I'm still paying $1k over MSRP when the dust settles. If that MSRP deal that he/she made is out of state, then it's another $1.5k-$2k on top of the $1k "service charge" - you get my point?

Be patient, it's a timing game and you just have to be at the right place at the right time. Just pick up the phone and start calling. I lost count of how many dealers (throughout the entire California and the neighboring states) that I had called during my hunt.

The right place is AT the dealership with a Type R of your liking. The right TIME is the last day, of any given month.

You can do it
