Hey everyone!

New 2025, only got around 700 miles so far.

Ever since I took it up to highway speeds. It would sometimes shake the steering wheel. I don't really feel it if im holding the wheel. But if I let go, the steering wheel shakes/vibrates side to side.

Noticed it happens more around 70-75 mph. Sometimes around 65 also.

The car has always kind of had this. Not sure if its the tires that need to be worn in a little? Or maybe its because the car sits for 1-2 weeks at a time before i get a chance to drive it? I would think any flat spots would smooth out after a few miles. I usually drive it for over an hour.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone noticed something similar.

Thanks!

Most likely one of the wheels are not properly balanced. It may be worth taking it to the dealer and have them check/rebalance to confirm.

Yeah I was thinking it could be a balance issue at first. But given it's intermittent, I was having doubts.

During parts of my drive I dont notice it much. Then other parts I do. But thats if I can get up to that speed.

I may need to drive on some other roads and keep the speed more consistent to see if it does the same thing. I know the car is super stiff (I drive with suspension in comfort).

I saw some reddit posts of users with similar vibration.

Worst case I'll have the dealer look. But trying to avoid that.

Worth checking out balancing and alignment. If I recall some owners mentioned wheel alignment was an issue straight of the dealership.

I doubt this would be your issue, but is it possible that you are experiencing the lane keep assist? I just remembered picking up my car from the dealer and within 5 minutes I got a violent wheel shake which was the lane keep assist thinking I crossed a line.

Oh yes.. Lane assist is one of the first things to turn off. It's overly sensitive and just a nuisance.

It freaked me right out the first time it happened! I immediately pulled over and figured out how to turn it off.

Thanks for the replies!

I turned off lane keeping assist day 1 on the ride home from the dealer lol

I've been driving it more on other roads and its still intermittent. Sometimes no steering wheel shake at all. Other times it will.

Might try to rotate the tires and see if that does anything. It will at least narrow it down to the wheels.

Dealer is last resort lol.

Have you sorted out the issue already? I am also fighting with this, same symptoms. I have mounted another set of wheels, same story. Dealer contacted Honda about this. Happened after worm gear recall.

I'm dealing with same issue on my 2025 as well. I have aftermarket wheels and tires and thought it may be them, I rotated them yesterday (front to back, back to front) and no change, slight vibration can be felt in steering wheel around 70-75 mph.

I haven’t done anything about it yet. I dont normally drive around 70mph for extended periods. I'll most likely rotate my tires as a first step.

Since I have a 2025, there is no worm gear/steering recall. This vibration was from the factory.

Hope you hear back from the dealer/Honda. Would like to know what they find out.

I'll keep an eye if the vibration continues on my end. I dont really feel it much when holding the steering wheel. When I let go of the wheel, it will be shaking side to side.

Ok the problem is fixed. I went to specialised shop, wheel geometry was fckd up by the dealership while changing the steering gearbox. I mean really fckd up. Right now no vibrations. It seems that FL5 is very sensible to this.

Pity that it cost me 300 USD (converted)

Glad you got it sorted out! Sorry to hear another story of dealership incompetence.

Sux that you had to have a specialized shop fix the issue and it cost you $300. However, the dealer would've probably got it wrong and you would have had to go back a couple of times and then they would've messed up one of your rims. So in the end, you got a better outcome even though cost you $300.

from what i have been told in the shop FL5 is very sensitive to wheel geometry. Even small things like changing wheels without cleaning the hub can produce vibrations - I mean fractions of a milimeter of rust/dirt. I can attest this personally as I have experienced this with another brand car, BMW 4 series.
