Agree regarding steering gearbox. On a related matter, my understanding is if caster or camber is off, you can't resolve that with normal alignment, would have to go back to the dealership to rectify. Can you confirm and would you mind sharing the alignment specs that were used? Please.
I don't want to put you off man. But I think there's a reason you decided to check forums before proceeding. Go with your gut. Even if there ordered it, you can just hold off until you feel comfortable.
In my case if I didn't have the ticking sound I wouldn't have pursued asking them about the...
It's a tough decision. The service bulletin says it could be dangerous in the long run. But my recall feels like it created a more dangerous situation.
Personally, in hindsight, I should have held out as long as possible. I'm in talks with Honda SA and dealership now. It's too much of a...
I've had a similar
I've had/having a similar issue after the recall. Did more research and realized the alignment was off from after the recall, since then no tyre shop can get my rear camber any better but for now the toe is sorted out. I still need to test but car felt awful around bends...
Hi guys
Does anyone have a printout or the specs from Honda for the RHD FL5?
I've seen several posts regarding wheel alignment specs but these seem for LHD cars. There was a pdf posted as well that looks like an official spec sheet but I can't confirm if it's for RHD.
Thanks.
Thanks man. I only hope so. Mine started of feeling great after the recall and a few weeks later is when I started noticing the handling issue because I was before more cautious at first. Honda Dealer did the recall checks again (VSA, Steering sensing etc) and even put in another rack. I'm...
They are meant to do the alignment. If it's pulling to the left it could be a combination of steering and alignment. Hopefully that can be resolved with the checks thats meant to be done with the recall.
I don't have the same issue, but if I accelerate too quickly or take a bend that I would...
Yeah lol.
I'm hoping so. Will get on the phone with them tomorrow to take it in but they are already aware, I mentioned it a few weeks ago. Also did realignment to rule that out. Will post feedback here.
Ah. I wish that was the case here. Part of me rues going in for it now. Mine drove fine except for the ticking sound which started to get more audible.
No, according to the service bulletin it wasn't just grease. The entire suspension was dropped and the steering gearbox replaced.
Yeah, its scary. I've lost some confidence in the handling of the car, and that's what it's been lauded for.
Two months after the recall procedure on my car, I've noticed the steering looser and skittish when going around bends or sudden movements, like quick overtaking or lane changong. Like an issue with feedback. Taking a bend spiritedly (but not irresponsibly) the car loses grip and steering gets...
Hey bud. So sorry. That's heartbreaking.
I didn't realize this car would be that desired by those sort of people. It's sad and frustrating.
All the best recovering your loss and hope you find yourself back in one soon.
Thanks man. I did some google sleuthing and came across the same. The closest is billetworkz.
I can see why you won't sell it but if you do, drop me a dm ?
We have the steering recall in South Africa for about two months if I "recall" :). In the US it's been out longer.
I was also apprehensive at first. Steering ticking sound is goneI could be confusing it with the service which I had done while the car was in for the recall. Overall, pleased that...
