? agree with you! I don’t really recommend it to customers plus I can’t give discounts on it. I am building a Spoon Type One replica that’s the reasoning for mine and I have a small obsession with Spoon lol It’s a great exhaust though and quality. Same I have a ST I drive usually so don’t go on highway much with the FL5 but when I do it’s annoying.
Have you heard any exhaust system for this platform with no drone? I was looking at the Miltek resonated but then saw some folks having to drill a hole in it to drain water (??).

I’m fine with dual or triple tip, just not the single 😆

So is the Mugen really quiet?

I sat in the back seat for the first time yesterday since owning the car. Was too tired to drive so sat in the back with my son. It was loud. I don’t know how my wife puts up with it, since she’s usually in the backseat with my son. That’s why I’m looking to get something quieter.

I also see that the Mugen single for Group B is coming out and it’s full titanium from the front pipe back. Enticing.
The front pipe is stainless, most realized that full titanium systems from the turboback tend to crack at the front pipe so pretty much everyone switched to stainless front pipes.

Yeah

Mugen is quiet and deep. As for the titanium I read the front pipe is stainless. And the pics the front pipe looked normal stock type?

I do wonder is 2.5" okay for the applications above 400hp..since Mugen is 2.5"?

I just got dyno'd at 424 with the Milltek and RV6 660 (stock fuel system for now).

That Milltek was stupid loud when I threw the non resonated pipe on ?

Made me miss the quietness and deeper tone of Mugen. Milltek is so raspy. I can't win lol.
2.5" is fine for over 500whp, there are at least 3 FL5s in South Florida making over 500whp on the stock exhaust, they all just swapped the downpipe and front pipe for aftermarket units.

You have to find exhaust system with at least 2 resonators to have little to no drone. So systems like:

1). Spoon N1 exhaust
2). 5Zigen SP500(they make the Spoon Exhaust also)
2). Seeker SES Trident Street Muffler kit
3). Fujitsubo A-RM+C Exhaust
4). Amuse R1 Titan Extra
5). Kakimoto Racing KR Exhaust
6). Ballade Sports Titanium Exhaust
7). The Alibaba exhausts can be ordered with 2 resonators as well.

Thank you for the list! I hadn’t heard of half of these. Do you have any personal experience with any of these?

I've only been around 2 Cars that have the Spoon exhaust, Ballade Sports have a decent video on Instagram, the others have good videos online. Pretty much all the JDM stuff will have the least drone because of Japanese regulations.

I have a downpipe and front pipe. I also read that stock is fine for that power, which I'm sure it is...but I noticed the mugen began to have exhaust leaks because the exhaust pressure was too much. I swapped to MXP and am fine now. It's a good tone also.

I almost picked up a spoon exhaust, but the guy was too far to drive to, all the way up in NY and he wouldn't meet half way for his asking price, too bad.

That's surprising to hear about the Mugen exhaust. If the Spoon exhaust wasn't so expensive I'd recommend it to more people. It sounds better than most everything else that's out, especially with a downpipe and front pipe.

yeah, really wanted to try spoon. So with Mugen, it has o-ring gaskets and it was fine before I went up to 424hp with the RV6 turbo...then I could hear the leaks and see it lol.
MXP is good though, very deep. I only would recommend it if you plan to keep the valve open. I hate the sound when it opens/closes, drives me nuts.
Also it does have drone, so no recommend for long drives. Short vid inside the cabin noise (best with a headset/ear buds on)

it was barely used. He wasn't the friendliest. I told him I'd take it for the asking price. Then asked if he could meet somewhere in between...he was quick to say I had to come all the way to him lol. No matter now, I already got another exhaust.

Can't remember his name, it was off facebook, I'll check after work.

He probably can’t meet you halfway because his car has no exhaust on it🤣

Just installed the N1 last week, gotta say I'm really liking it so far. First off, my wife did not complain about its volume when she rode in it. She said wasn't loud, so that's a big win not hearing her complain. Got a should have sounded this way from the start sound. Looks great, too bad it's hidden underneath, really looks good. Im 50, daily it to work and no drone. I really went back and forth with tips, two or three? Those rolled tips do look great though, sets it apart form the rest. I guess i ordered at wrong time with tariff's and all with price, but what are we supposed to do!
