I’ve been thinking about switching to it too. I just want to make sure there is no gap like everyone’s been talking about
There's no way to know without smoke testing it or something. I used silicone tape to bridge the gap on mine, but it's a bit finicky to do so cleanly.

These kinds of filters have been around for a couple decades now at least. You understand the tradeoff when you buy an intake like this. My 320k FA5 has been running around with a hybrid racing cold air and its still just as healthy as its always been. So I'm not too worried about it.

I know in the small engine go kart community they sell filter covers to help prevent heavy dust from clogging the filter. Maybe a solution for those in very dusty environments.
