What's the latest on the cars from the Lyra Leader?

A friend placed a deposit in the Midwest and was told his car should be here in 3 or so weeks. Lyra seems to have already arrived and left. So I assume its unloaded and awaiting transport to dealer.

Mine took about 3ish weeks from port arrival to dealer.

Lyra leader just arrived SoCal and dealer starts showing their assigned Vin in inventory. Cars will arrive to dealers in 1-4 weeks. This batch will push current US inventory of about 300 to 1000

Do you know if dealerships receive vins before the cars are placed on boats in Japan or do they get them only once they arrive?

I'm not sure but probably the latter since several dealer lists the new cars VIN within today batch right when the ship arrives. There has not been new listings in last 2 weeks.

Honda automatically pushes In Transit inventory for most dealership websites, not sure exactly what status a car needs to hit to trigger that though. Dealers can of course manually manage it, but few do.

Based on the MotoringObsession website, it appears cars shipped from Japan are allocated to dealer's internal shipping tracking and published to the Honda public API at the same time. For example, my RR 2025 was first published to the public Honda API on July 15th - it just arrived at the dealer Monday this week. I know that on August 11th, my dealer told me it was at port in Richmond CA. It took ~3 weeks for it to get from the California port to my dealer, spending nearly all 3 weeks in a rail car (it went from Richmond CA on a rail car to--> Cincinnati OH --> Waycross GA --> Greer SC --> loaded off rail car and onto truck and shipped to Spartanburg SC).

Interestingly enough, MotoringObsession has shown no new "in transit" allocations for the last 2 weeks, so it seems like (I surmise), at this moment, no 2026 allocations have left the assembly line for port in Japan. I could be wrong on this, but this is my anecdotal observation.

edit: I want to add that I firmly believe 2026s are coming, but it seems like none have been shipped yet

Yes I wonder how long before they are loaded in the system. Motoringobsession.com still doesn't show the new bath from Lyra Leader. So perhaps takes a while to be loaded in the system or it to be updated.

I know his website pulls from the Honda api, so who knows.

I wish I could get the raw data from that site vs the map-based version. Anyone connected with the guy that put it together?

Mine was on the Mercury Leader too, got to the dealer in Virginia around Aug 20-21. I actually saw it on the truck headed to the dealer one morning! Despite dealer washing the car, there is a lot of rail dust on the paint so I plan to hit it with iron remover next week. I imagine any of these cars that went cross country by rail will have this issue.
