If it look ugly you suppose to say it look pretty good... opinion is opinion your money you buy what you want period. Me being negative??? so forum is suppose to be kiss every one ass say it look good even tho its not looking good
That's not what I'm saying at all. Based on the majority of your comments, you just seem combative and negatively opinionated when you could tone it down a bit. I don't mean to offend ya, we're all here for a common goal and support each other. All love, man.

There’s a company on IG that makes splitters similar to the Project Aero lip, but it’s more aggressive. RSplitters Aero. Pretty sure it’s the same materials too, but not 100%. Since they are made in the US, it may be a good way to save some $$ on tariffs and shipping.

The problem that I personally have with all this lips is that most of the JDM really expensive they basically bolt into the bumper with self tapping screws or something similar, while paying over a 1k dollars to also wait for a product 3 years before you can have it because JDM. In my opinion this isn’t 1990 anymore and the spoon to put an example doesn’t even go all the way around on the bumper, if you want to pay for the hype of JDM ok but in my opinion isn’t any front lip worth it out there. But that’s just me to put a example I like the Garage Unique but guess what is hold into the bumper with self tapping screws and is 850 dollars sorry but isn’t worth the price in my opinion and there no front lip that worth it either.

I agree 100%. I don’t understand how back in 2000 it was cheaper to get a JDM lip here than it is today. Those lips would wrap around the bumper and secure itself with factory hardware (for the most part).

That being said, my Blitz front lip (non-carbon) will be here today. The lip cost $300 with double the price to ship and on top of that another $95 for tariffs. Yeah it is a waste of money. What we need is a legit US company to make something for us. When I say legit, it means not going to China to produce the part. That’s just me.

I won’t recommend the Maxton lip only because it sits so low…. Mines cracked after 6 months (my fault) but this one comes from Europe and can be had for $300 shipped to your door. We are being gouged by the “JDM” dealers.

At least I’m not the only one that shares this sentiment and you’re 100% correct!

You can mount any lip properly by using rivets and bolts.

I would never mount any lip with tape or self tappers, a good way to see the lip fly of and hit another car. If there is holes for self tapping screws you can do bolts, if there isnt bring out the drill.

I dont have a lip on this car but have had lips on other cars and always did it properly

Agreed to disagree with you there while you are right on the proper way of mount up the lip, this JDM’s companies all of them charge you an arm and a leg for something that you needed to wait 3 years to get it just because. On top of that you see the majority that make’s installation videos and is installed that way other than Mugen using the proper mounting system for parts like this. Also my problem is we don’t have a cheap car either so why we need to settle on for parts like this? Is the same problem that I have with majority of the exhaust system they have out there why most of them need to protrude out 5f from the bumper? And cannot fit the proper way? When on most expensive car they are perfectly fit like the OEM is that something hard to ask? Again put the example on my EVO the ETS the fitment was on point not protruding 3ft of the bumper because… sorry but that’s bad quality of product in my opinion. I’m not willing spend money because JDM or hype.

I never said anything about japanese bumpers, their ridiculous prices and wait times. I agree there, id never buy a lip for 2 grand that i have to wait years to get (and then doesnt fit well, cough spoon cough).

What i was talking about is that any lip can be mounted properly, why go with their instructions when you know its all for looks. I came from bmw and its the same crap, tape and self tappers, just do your own thing.

I agree this platform needs more options and more cheaper options

The FL5 sits in this weird part of the enthusiast zeitgeist where MOST owners automatically equate cheaper to lesser quality but want the "best" until its time to pay up. Compared to FK8 parts there's definitely been a premium added to some of the aftermarket parts that were developed though.

Yup, it's the V1 and to be honest even though I scrapped everywhere the lip held up well for months. It only broke due to me being in a rush and not noticing the dip coming out of a parking lot. I am lowered on Eibach's.

It just pushed me to go ahead and order the Blitz  so we will see how it goes. The blitz looks great but I opted for FRP vs Carbon. I'm still debating whether I should sell or not. It does require painting or a wrap. We'll see.

Great points!! I just installed an Oettinger kit for my wife's Golf R. The instructions that came with it were use Volkswagen adhesive and 7 self tapping screws. Since the kit needed painting, I took it to a body shop and they said they would not follow the instructions provided because the front lip would eventually fall off with tappers. They ended using some adhesive, 3M tape and bolting it through the bumper.

True to that but like I said in my opinion this companies come out with a product and just because is JDM or whatever they run to pay whatever doesn’t matter the quality. Even like you say BMW also sins of that so we aren’t safe of any of them I rather to leave it like that than do something that really will not be like a OEM fitment.

Sure because all the "JDM" are really premium the only one that comes to my mind is Mugen and isn’t as expensive as the others but not as appealing as the FK8 one. They still develop a product charge a premium and give you self tapping screws and unbranded 3m tape to mount it in you car, but sure is JDM and is well developed.
