Hey guys so just need some thoughts of others on where I should go with my build. I’m currently running on eibach sports line lowering springs fyi. I can’t decide on whether to get the RSR I-active coilovers or the Mugen lip. I daily drive my car and I really can’t decide on what I should get. Thanks

That depends, what is your goal for the car? The coilovers are fine for daily usebut would be better served if you also track, autocross or do HPDE. The mugen lip is an aesthetic mod, personally I'd do the mugen lip then leave the RSR coilovers for later on. The lip is cheaper and adds a neat visual touch, especially you don't have to paint match it on your car.

I get your concern for the stock struts, I feel the same way and plan to upgrade to RSRs when my stock struts lose performance. I'm on Spoon springs which have the lowest drop so it will not be an issue any time soon. How many miles do you have? As long as the roads where you are, aren't terrible the stock struts should last at least 20k miles before you see any real issue.

Get the front lip, by the time you need struts enough time would have passed that the cost of lip wouldn't affect the cost of the coils

If you want to double your enjoyment in the acceleration department, contact @Jester04 for an ECU remap (hopefully there’s someone in Australia who can unlock the ECU). I also found the Acuity shifter to be a great mod.

I went with the Eibach pro-kit, PRL intake, and a stage 2 tune.

For me that makes the perfect daily. A nice look, I can still get in and out of parking lots/driveways without hitting my oem lip, fun spooling/wooshing sounds, and great power while looking pretty much stock inside and out.

I have a contact over there that can help him with that.

Skip the lip and the coilovers. Get the sunglass holder from a Touring model. And the Homelink/auto-dimming mirror. Those will improve your life every single day.
Is there a thread for this that shows some DIY and PN? I throw my sunglasses in the charger pad every day and its getting increasingly scratched. First I've heard of this.

sportlines isn't super low, though they are typically lower than pro-kits.

I recall reading at some point they designed the stock struts to be more durable along a wider range, that it can handle moderate lowering - knowing their user base. Maybe someone can confirm if they recall that too.

If you don't need the adjustablity or characteristics of a specific spring rate, coils are a (relatively) expensive proposition for a daily. Then again wrong crowd to say "expensive".

The sunglasses holder will work on other trims like the Si, but won't work on the OP's FL5.
Ah, sorry! I didn't catch that it was a Type R. From what I understand, it would still bolt in, but the headliner wouldn't have the right contour to meet the flange without a gap. I'm assuming it's a sunroof/no-sunroof difference.
