Doesn’t the stock intake only become a bottleneck once you get over the 500+ mark?

That’s why I’ll be going PWR when I upgrade the IC. It’s only 3lbs heavier than stock, cools extremely well, and doesn’t block nearly as much airflow to the radiator.
The dimensions of the COBB intercooler are nearly identical to the PWR unit.

Looks like a solid option. Glad to see all these new FL5 products coming out. Hopefully it continues

Nope. Take any car making 400whp or more on a single inlet point intake (factory style opening only) and you can look forward to a 20WHP gain if you switch to a dual inlet style intake.

400 -> 420
450 -> 470

A reminder to some, this only shows its face if you dyno test with the hood closed, which is of course how we drive our vehicles.

Wow. Wonder why it weighs so much more.
Bar and plate vs less dense tube and fin

Edit: This is wrong! PWR's FK8 intercooler was tube and fin but the FL5 unit is noted as "lightweight bar and plate. 87mm thick utilizing our R-fin as the internal tube."

Got everything installed and test drove for a bit. Running the stage 2 Cobb map that goes along with the intake and intercooler. There is a stage 1+ map if you are just doing the intake too.
Some initial thoughts below. I'll drive it for the next week to get a better feel for the differences before the new parts
- Intake install was straightforward and easy
- Intercooler install was much tougher and is definitely a 2 person job. It was the first time I've taken the bumper off as well and took my time getting through all the pop out clips. The routing the charge pipes and hoses and getting them just right was the toughest part.
- Lots of turbo noises that I never heard from the stock intake
- Car feels a little quicker once it hits about 3k rpm and through the rev range but I'll be doing more testing on that
- I also did the acuity shifter bushings since thats all in the same intake/charge pipe area. Personally I don't feel like its a whole lot different then stock but I'm glad I did it

I was hoping the intake could be run without tune... UGH
Yep, 100% have to. We tested this intake on stock MAF cal a while back and it definitely does not work. Its is a GREAT intake though. I was very impressed with the install and quality.

Great intake and FMIC kit. Fit great on our test car, and will be getting a pretty hardcore shakedown next weekend at Gridlife Autobahn on our 500+whp FL5.

Interestingly enough, PWR is bar and plate as well
This is correct! Thanks for the reminder. Their FK8 intercooler was tube and fine, my notes on their FL5 intercooler state "lightweight bar and plate. 87mm thick utilizing our R-fin as the internal tube."
