I posted asking if I should go Cobb or Hondata. I decided to go with Cobb. The reason being is I got in touch with Brian Tyson at JST performance and telling him my mods and goals for the car he suggested Cobb. The price and ease of doing Cobb Accessport was also part of my decision. So I bought the Cobb Accessport and a custom tune cheaper than just getting Hondata. I am not saying Cobb is for everyone but it is an option that I think people should look into. Also get a custom tune from Brian Tyson at JST performance. I am really happy with the results from my tune. The car feels so much better than it did before. Again I highly recommend anyone to get in touch with Brian Tyson he was extremely helpful.

The forum members overwhelmingly responded Hondata. Surprised you went the Cobb route. I already see a member selling their Cobb so they can buy a Hondata. Hope it works out for you.

Also never heard of this tuner. I am sure the customer service was great, but you need to vet whoever is tuning your car. I would have went Hondata with one of the trusted known tuners. Not worth risking your engine to save a few bucks when you already spent upwards of $50k for a Civic.

I mean I found it interesting too that a majority said hondata but he still went Cobb lol. But as long as he is happy and likes the product. To each their own!

I actually already bought the FlashPro and put it on my car, which is why I’m selling the Cobb :) .

Why did you switch?
I switched because of the many settings and other things you can customize with the FlashPro. Cobb is a bit limited in that aspect. Honestly I should have bought the FlashPro to begin with but I’m glad I got to try out Cobb also.

Congrats @Chrisfl5, keep us up to date with the progress. What mods did you have for your custom tune? Did you get unlimited stock turbo revisions or any additional fuel options?

My mods are PRL stage 1 intake with sprint filter,PRL intercooler with charge pipes, and milltek non resonated exhaust. Just did a 93 tune. I don’t have any plans to do flex fuel, turbo or downpipe upgrades.

Although JST is a new name for Honda, the shop has been around for many years and does great work on the Ford eco-boost platform.

Thanks for the kind words!

Random fact that i dont post about a lot. We actually bought a 10th gen Si back in 2017 the first week they were released and tuned a bit of those on Ktuner, and then bought an FK8 a few months later and also tuned a bit of those on Ktuner. We ran Gridlife/ Global Time Attack with an FK8 for about 2 years back then. Our Ecoboost tuning at the time just randomly Blew up in about 2019. So I decided to concentrate on only Focus ST/ Focus RS/ Fiesta ST at the time. We seriously had about 3 to 4 times as many Ecoboost customers come in during 2019-2020 vs the previous years. I'm the only tuner here at JST so i decided to stop pushing other platforms for a while so that I could concentrate on my main platform.
