Upcoming Track Days
Other than a tire rotation and oil change the car has been untouched since my last outing in the rain. I have the following two track days coming up if anyone local is interested in jumping in.
  • November 2, 2025 Sebring International Raceway (Hosted by Chin Track Days)
  • November 15, 2025 Homestead Miami Speedway (Hosted by Chin Track Days)

Last Track Days with the A052's
My last two track days went extremely well, caught up with old friends, and had a ton of seat team at my two local tracks. So much in fact that I corded the front tires on my last sessions at Homestead Miami Speedway, obviously no personal best lap times were achieved.

Since then I recently picked up a set of the Nankang CR-S tires in a 275 35 18. A lot of people have been saying good things about the tires so might as well give them a try.

Enjoy the following wheel pics and POV track vides!

Nankang CR-S First Impressions
Had a very successful Sebring track day this past weekend while trialing out the Nankang CRS for the first time. My first session was spent dialing in the hot air pressures and I got comfortable with them on my second session. Overall they provide great feedback and last much longer than the A052's but do not provide the same amount of confidence as the outgoing RE71RS. If you can get the CR-S on sale and below the price of the RE71RS then go for it. I cant speak for rain performance as I have not driven in the rain.

In other news, after reviewing my data and videos, I'm certainly leaving a lot of room on the table under braking, I need to be a bit braver and shorten my brake zones.

In addition, I have encountered that I have too much front camber (-4.0) in the front and I'm not utilizing all the tread properly. I'm planning to install the middle shim of the J's Racing Lower ball joint to see if I can get around -3.0 to -3.5. Before the install of the lower ball joint I was at -1.9 degrees up front and I was eating away the outside tread, now at -4.0 I'm eating up the inside tread so I'm still trialing out what works best for me and my driving style.

Finally, I have on order the J's Racing lowering springs which increases the spring rates and gives the car a forward rake which in theory will help with initial turn-in even further. I will report once I have them and test them out on track.

In the meantime enjoy the following POV track video with my session against an RS3:

Dream Wheels Achieved
After about six-months of waiting I finally received my dream wheel setup from Matt at ICB. Ever since the re-release of the Regamaster EVO II came out for the FK8 I've always wanted a set. I ordered the lesser known size of 18x10 +50 so that the A052 265 35 R18 tires will have a tight fitment on the rim and provide the best possible turn-in feel.

After a few highway on-way ramp pulls (up to the speed limit of course) I can confidently say these wheels make a huge difference in overall feel. The car feels much more direct and responsive to my inputs and with the taller side wall it helps smooths out the small imperfections on the road. In addition, per my rough estimates the wheels are saving me about 40lbs of unsprung mass. Hopefully the weight savings and more direct feel will lead to lower lap-times once the temps are more favorable.

Enjoy the following pics:

It's been a short while since I've peeked in here. Congrats on getting your dream wheels. I've been waiting since June '25 for my dream setup. This must be an awesome feeling. Loving the progress & POV racing. Also, love that you're using your data and mindfully making skill changes. IMO, So cool to be able to enjoy our cars in such a way, and it's one of my goals this year, "get some seat time in."

Thank you! I really enjoy slowly growing with the car and figuring out what works best for me. I hope you get that seat time this year!

Sweet video
Dude, how are you powering the Garmin? 12V slot looks empty!
Lol I use a battery pack behind the Garmin. I wanted to keep the setup as tidy as possible so wires are not hanging anywhere and its easy to put away when I'm daily driving the car.

Ooooo, do you have your exact setup? I also don't want any wires for my dashcam...

Also really pleasant surprise seeing your build thread here, I watch your videos all the time

I just looked it up, Its a Belkin Power Pack 5K milliamp hours. They don't sell the exact model that I have now but any other one will work. However it only powers the Garmin and camera for one track day, I have to fully recharge it before the next track day.

How does the steering feel with the 275s vs 265s on the 10” wide wheel?

There is a slight delay to my initial turn-in on 275's given the taller sidewall. Some people may prefer this more relaxed steering feel; however, I still prefer the 265's which is more sensitive to initial inputs.

Thank you for the info! I remember when you got the wheels, you reported excellent steering response with the 265 tire. If I ever get off my wallet to buy a set of 18s, my main concern is loosing the sharp steering feel, but I feel the need to downsize due to the state of my local roads.

Drove my Dream Car on Track!!
Had the amazing opportunity to drive my student's car which was a 991.1 GT3RS. He was having some trouble of understanding trail-braking and how to utilize all of the track so he suggested that I drive his car around for a couple of laps. I happily obliged and drove the car for about 3 laps around my home track.

Some quick notes that surprised me right out of the gate was how similar you have to drive the 911 to our cars. You truly have to trail-brake all the way into the apex to get the car to turn. Additionally, the car had the PCCB brakes and I was stunned on how hard and deep you have to press on the brake pedal to get them to work. One big let down however was how intrusive the traction control was, I did not disable it given it was not my car and I was not going to push 10/10's.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the video!
