Dude, you gotta get some of those spike lug nuts that stick out like 7 feet past the wheel like truckers have. Nobody is going to be looking for a point by after that!
Lol 😂

Will be interesting to see and hear your thoughts after the new lip install. I believe you will need a little more wing now to balance that extra front grip out. That rear wiggle is about to increase a little bit

I will report back, but hopefully the rear gurney I added helps.

Agreed, great way to summarize mods at the beginning and also chronicle the journey of owenrship/mods/review after usage. Provides the community a great source of feedback.

Thank you for your effort!

Not the Best Conditions..
After much anticipation, my first ever Time Attack event has come and gone. I knew going in there was a very high chance of rain and that is exactly what happened. However, the bad weather didn't stop me from having fun out on track even if it costed me my new Mugen Front lip.

I don't have much on-track photos yet, but I wanted to give an update and include the POV track video from my first session. I will be posting my second session showing an incident that I had going into Turn 1 with too much speed and failing to make the turn. No worries, only my front lip and a cone were sacrificed.

Overall, I learned a lot about driving this car at the limit in the rain. I came away very happy with myself and excited to do another Time Attack event with FARA. As you will see in the video I was able to quickly adapt to the wet weather conditions and came away with the second fastest time in the first session. The car performed amazingly well, with loads of initial turn-in response under trail-braking. However, I can't say if the Mugen front lip created any effect to the aero balance given the poor weather conditions, but I can say the rear gurney flap I added was useless. The rear gurney I added started came off on the highway. I think the curvature of the factory wing is too aggressive to add such a thick piece of rubber on it.

Going forward, I'm just going to leave the car as is and keep developing as a driver. I would also like to explore more race tracks in my region.

I would also like to thank everyone on this Forum who's been reading along and enjoying my little journey with the FL5!!

Anyways, enjoy the footage I took and the couple of photos that I have for now.

I watched your rain vid last night shortly after you posted it. You definitely had your hands full.
Speaking from experience, there is nothing more exhilarating and frightening all at the same time as driving your street car on a race track in the wet. You do learn a ton about car control though

How hard of an impact on the lip did it take to crack it and in your opinion do you think any other FRP lip could have survived it?

Thanks for watching the Video!

I looked over the Garmin footage and the impact was close to 90mph. I don't think any front lip would have survived. Reminder the Mugen lip is an ABS plastic.

A strike at 90mph will definitely do it but it did hold up well. Throw some gorilla glue on that and give it another round.

my Mugen lip lasted 3 days after an Armadillo strike at 70mph. Mine looked like a cannonball went through it

Thanks for the footage on the track you did a great job that rain Is tricky. It might have been a blessing in disguise having the rain. If the track would have been dry you’d of been pushing it harder and at higher speeds. With a mistake then it might have been much more costly.
Again great driving and thanks for the footage 👍🏻👊🏻

That actually looks pretty nerve wracking. Great driving though.
I’m sorry you lost your lip, but look at the bright side, your Regamasters are OK!😅
