Dammit man! That is my dream wheel and I would love to find them in the Bright II color. Are you going to throw the stickers on them?

I'm gonna keep them as is with no stickers for now. I like the clean look, plus I go to the track a lot.

Dream Wheels Achieved
After about six-months of waiting I finally received my dream wheel setup from Matt at ICB. Ever since the re-release of the Regamaster EVO II came out for the FK8 I've always wanted a set. I ordered the lesser known size of 18x10 +50 so that the A052 265 35 R18 tires will have a tight fitment on the rim and provide the best possible turn-in feel.

After a few highway on-way ramp pulls (up to the speed limit of course) I can confidently say these wheels make a huge difference in overall feel. The car feels much more direct and responsive to my inputs and with the taller side wall it helps smooths out the small imperfections on the road. In addition, per my rough estimates the wheels are saving me about 40lbs of unsprung mass. Hopefully the weight savings and more direct feel will lead to lower lap-times once the temps are more favorable.

Thank you for following the build! My next track day will probably be in July or August. I'm trying to plan a trip to Road Atlanta.

I need to drive RAtl sooner than later. I've only been on NCM and Mid Ohio, neither with my FK8 ?

Forged Wheels Make a Difference!!
Had a blast testing out the Regamaster Evo's this past weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway. Albeit there was on and off rain throughout the day which made for some pretty interesting track conditions. @conchajm also came by to sit in the car for my first two sessions, I'm excited to see him develop further as a driver! Only hiccup was that I ran out of front pads on my third session. During the lunch break I swapped in a new set of R5's.

After the new pads I was able to really push the car and was pleasantly surprised how the lighter/stronger wheels truly improved driver engagement and feel! I was able to go deeper into the brake zones without activating ABS, the initial turn-in has become even more direct, and the car responds faster to additional steering response on the mid-corner phase of the turn. I'm so happy I waited for these wheels!!

Enjoy the following track pics and quick video of my third session of the day with the front pads on it's last leg.

Regamasters are the best imo. I definitely felt a big difference when I switched off my oem.
What wheel and tire specs are yours? My only concern with downsizing to 18s would be loosing any turn in sharpness, but it seems that’s not the case stretching a 265 over a 10 inch wide wheel.

Definitely going with a 265 over a x10 helps keep the sharp turn-in response but you also have to consider which tire brand and model you're going with. For example the A052's that I have run much wider and have stiffer sidewalls then the PS4S or even the lower tier Advan AD09. Also within the 200TW category the actual tire widths can range a lot too. So you have to do your research, and decide on what you want to do with your car. BTW I do not recommend the A052's tires for driving in the rain they like to hydroplane a lot. I would recommend the RE71RS they run wide, have a stiff sidewall, and do much better in the rain.

That's just my two cents from my own experience driving them all on the street and track.

Extended Studs for Added Safety
Since putting on the the Regamaster wheels I had always envisioned installing extended studs. Not only do they look cool but they have the added benefits of increasing safety, reliability, durability, and help with wheel changes. I went with MSI for wheels studs instead of the more common APR, given their NASCAR heritage and experience. I also paired them up with their open ended race lug nuts. Overall the install was simple and carefree until I had stripped the last set screw on the passenger rear. Which was not fun at all to extract!

Didn't take much photos given how hot is right now but enjoy the few that I've got:

In other news, I also picked up an unpainted Mugen front lip for a good deal. It should be painted and installed before my next track day, so standby for track pics with the lip installed.

Dude, you gotta get some of those spike lug nuts that stick out like 7 feet past the wheel like truckers have. Nobody is going to be looking for a point by after that!
