I'm a newb to this and really wasn't enlightened on hub centric wheels and center hub rings. I recently bought a set of aftermarket Enkei wheels to run with all season tires during the winter. The center bore on my Enkei wheels is 72.6mm and I believe the center hub is 64.1 mm? My questions are the center rings necessary to avoid vibration? People are saying the plastic rings are better because they don't corrode and seize as easily? A website I searched said 72.6mm to 64.1mm WOULD NOT fit the 2023 CTR and showed 73mm to 64.10mm as the correct size. Please can someone which knowledge of such things help me out? I'll probably be fitting my winter wheel/tire setup on the next 2-3 weeks. THANKS IN ADVANCE !

Plastic are fine if you don’t track the car. I prefer the metal ones and just do a little anti seize on them and you are good to go.

From a material standpoint, I dont like dis-similar metal touching as they have different heat expansion coefficient and they are not as easily deformed to comply with that expansion as a plastic one is. all youre doing is making sure the wheel is centered on the hub. The Once it is, the studs and the friction between the wheel and the brake is (what i think) holding the wheel on and the hub centric ring is not the load bearing component

This is also true! The hub centric ring is only for alignment the studs are the load bearing part along with the hub. The only issue with the plastic ones are if you track the car they will melt and make a mess.

I had some custom one off made out of titanium for the s2k which act as hubcentric ring and caps at the same time lol.

Thank you for the info and that makes sense. I think the plastic rings will serve my purposes as I plan to use the aftermarket wheels / all-season tires for my winter cold weather set-up.

Yes then the plastic ones will work no problem for you for that.

Just skip them, they are unnecessary if you mount your wheels properly. In fact, I've only ever seen them cause problems.

Not sure what you mean? I didn’t know there was a wrong way to mount wheels…unless you don’t torque the lugs in a star pattern to the correct spec…and use the correct lug nut seat design (conical vs ball). Is this what you mean?

Exactly. If you mount the wheel correctly hub centricity is a non-issue, the lugs will do it naturally. I just make sure my wheels are on flush to the hub and tighten down in a proper pattern. Hard to have a plastic ring melt or a metal one gall if you don't use them :)

Thats pretty cool fr.
Also, I am using a higher heat resistance Nylon, from TSW, hub centric ring.

Thanks dude! Took a while to figure it out but had them made to cover the hub with my aftermarket wheels on the s2k.

I guess I watch too many YouTube videos and started worrying about proper fitment. I've already ordered a set of plastic hub rings .. they were only like $10. I'm not installing my winter setup for a few weeks so I'll mull it over weather I use them.
