I'll be honest and say the GT4 has basically ruined me. Most other cars feel like garbage by comparison. So when I test drive I try to judge whatever I am test driving against my Fiesta ST.
And - being 100 per cent honest - the Fiesta is more fun to hustle than the RS3.
RS3 is just point, shoot, hang on, and look cool doing it. That's enough for some people, but not for me.
These are just my opinions based on my perspectives and benchmarks.

Just shows that sometimes, less power and less grip is more fun!

1000 per cent.
I've driven a 991.1 GT3 RS and I preferred the GT4.
HOWEVER
The GT2 RS....absolutely mega!
So yes, nine times out of ten less power and grip is more fun! Then there is the GT2 RS...
The 488 Pista is also very impressive. But I didn't lust after one after driving it.

We just took delivery of our Focus ST-Line X, and I love it. Curious how the ST is. Too much money in Taiwan since we’re only here 2-3 years. But I love the Focus, I think I’d take it over any entry level luxury car (IS200, A180, 1 series etc). Very different than a Fiesta ST, at least the last gen I drove in the US. It’s very refined, not raw at all.

I have a 2015 Fiesta ST and a friend has the 2020 model.
I like the engine and interior in his.
I like the looks and handling and seats in mine better.
The Fiesta ST was the closest thing I could find to replace my RS Clio. That was a spectacular car.

Honest question, I'm new to the forums for this new generation. I really want to get into the new CTR but I highly doubt I'll be able to drive one before I buy (and I've never driven the fk8 either). I've only driven BMW M cars the last 20 years or so (e46 M3, and now 1M), but I really want a car that's more practical, cheaper to own and one that I'm not as worried about on a day to day basis. But I cannot give up having a 6Mt and having 4 doors will be really nice. I don't drive much (<5k miles per year), so mileage hasnt ever been an issue on my cars. That being said, will I enjoy driving the CTR? Or am I spoiled by driving 6MT RWD M cars. I really want this CTR but a part of me is worried I may not enjoy if I'm lucky enough to get one, and worry the build quality may not justify the price. Backup option is (was) the new M2 but that car looks pretty terrible from the leaks, and I really wouldn't mind saving $25k or so! Plus, I'm keeping the 1M so that will always be there to scratch that itch. Not trolling, honest question, and would love to hear from those that have experienced both.
Haven’t driven a 1M or the new type R. What I will say though is the last gen type R was more fun to street drive then the G80 (comp & non comp), F80, & E92.

It looks like we're all looking for a tight steering car with good steering feel, good shifting, and a somewhat raw driving experience, all with at least 4 doors

Keeping the M.. there's no way you'll regret putting that combo together. And if you end up not loving the Civic, it won't exactly be hard to get your money back ;)

driven my buddies gt4 and it's just an unreal vehicle...i can't even imagine how good a gt4rs feels

but yes, the rs3 is a very fast car straight line, however in all other categories it's shit, it's not a fun car to throw around, nor does it have any real room inside

Your feelings on the RS3 are why I’ve circled bad to the CTR. My Neibours are driving Ferrari, Mclerans, and Lamborghini’s. All they do is drive them in a straight line and don’t even mention a race track. Most of these guys don’t even know a thing about those cars. The appeal of the CTR for me is having fun on my way to the grocery store and setting track records at my local track on the weekend.

I have said this before on the forums, but the problem with the CTR (FK8) is that while it has a really good chassis and good brakes it really lacks in engine, sound and acceleration grip.

The engine is super laggy (maybe it will be better on the FL5) and it sounds like crap. New exhaust only makes it louder, not better sounding. Then because of the FWD it just spins up its wheels all the time unless you have really optimal conditions. I had about 380hp but it just felt so slow all the time. You could not use that power until end of 3rd gear maybe.

There are some things that are good with the CTR but in general I prefer an M2 (first gen) over it.

This is how I feel with my GT350.

Really the only car that immediately caught my attention afterwards was the CTR and now here I am ?

Ya I was considering the RS3 for a while, and granted this is not from actual driving, but many reviews just reading, but if sacrificing the manual transmission the CLA 45 is the one with the more engaging, and fun driving characteristics. If there wasn't stupid markups it would be a consideration.
