So there is a 2026 after all!
?
I would have gone for that if they offered it in 24.
I wish the suede dash and door inserts were available.I would have gone for that if they offered it in 24.
What's strange is I'm hearing rumors of a Type R version of the Prelude in the works.. I"m not sure if it's true.. Anyone hear about this?My speculation...
Japan Phase 3 noise and emissions laws kick in mid-2026, which would halt production entirely since the cars are built there.
In Europe, it's confirmed that the current FL5 is getting axed after 2025 due to stricter Euro 6e Bis emissions regs starting January 2026, which the K20C1 engine doesn't comply with.
Rumors say Honda's already stopped taking orders for new Type Rs, including the Black Edition.
Some dealer whispers and forum posts suggest the FL5 might continue into 2026 as a carryover model with no facelift, just a possible price increase as it went up $800 for '25 :-(
Production might run through first half of '26 before tapering off, but others think it'll end by late '25 to make way for electrified successors :-(
Honda's export data and supply chain logistics (engines made in Ohio, assembled in Japan) make a full global shutdown tricky, but the noise and emissions regulations are real.
Nah, it makes sense they'd still build the DE5. It was released a year behind the FL5 anyway, built entirely in the US, and it's exclusive to the North American market. TLX I don't think is relevant because it's had a much longer production run.And I also think ITS will end with FL5. It doesn't make sense for them to make the low volume car/engine just for USA. The TLX termination is an example.
