If anyone is interested in the PWR intercooler, now is a good time. There will be a price increase on September 1. Some vendors have already preemptively raised the price ahead of September 1.
Scored one as well, seems pwr themselves has yet to raise pricing. Thanks.

Most likely, the price adjustment isn’t just a marketing trick it could also be tied to rising costs in the supply chain because they source their materials overseas (nothing wrong with that). A lot of manufacturers in this industry import raw materials or components from countries subject to higher tariffs, and we’ve seen a trend where those added costs are passed on to the customers and also dealers. As of Sept 1 there is tariffs on every import and price doesnt matter

On August 29, 2025, the U.S. ended the exemption, which allowed low-value imports (under $800) to bypass duties. Now, virtually all imports, regardless of value, are subject to duties—even if they’re small or inexpensive.

This is going to stop blackhawk japan from scamming the system labeling everything a gift and lowering the prices to under the threashold too

I understand not everyone can pick up on sarcasm. Thanks for the long winded response and engaging economic talk.
However do you remember what PWR did last year around this time lol

I'll update the first post in this thread tomorrow to account for more recent intercooler options now available. Regarding heat soak, intercooler weight and overall efficiency when there is airflow running through the core is important. Also important is considering load and limited airflow conditions such as stop and go traffic.

Consider noting that the new Cobb IC is not compatible with some oil cooler kits such as the HEL kit, due to the proprietary mounting brackets they use. We are hoping to seen update from Cobb soon to resolve this, but it's something to keep in mind.

I looked at the RV6 intercooler briefly and it appears the modifications are as follows:
  • Trim the air temperature sensor mounting tag
  • Drill a 5/16” hole in the plastic bumper support in front of the original mourning tab location.
  • Remove the Duct Plates on the front bumper from both sides
  • Install the supplied pressure fit Rubber Seals onto the plastic Intercooler grill on both sides by pressing it into place.

Please add the above to the first post at your earliest convenience. Thanks again for creating this thread. It may be helpful to add a line item to Post #1 with the installation guides. The installation guide can be found here.

Thanks for the inputs...I updated the first post to include intercoolers currently available. I also added (where available) links to installation instructions and forum discussion threads.

Nice, More options are always good to have. I hope they do a comparison test between their original B&P vs. this T&F.
Ah, good idea. With all these intercoolers out, this sounds like a good opportunity for Tegiwa to perform an Ultimate Intercooler Test a la their intake shootout.

I like that in the PRL blog it says " This is the same core size that we utilize on our Bar and Plate intercooler, which already maximized the available space inside the OEM front bumper without modifications." But you actually have to make modifications by relocating the ambient air temperature sensor and cutting the tab off and removing the air dams. 😆

I'm glad you mentioned this. I've noticed manufacturers are taking liberties with "no modifications". COBB Tuning said the same initially and then modified their product page later. No modifications means no modifications. Trimming, relocating, replacing, and whatever verb you want to use that suggests doing anything other than bolting the intercooler on is not "no modifications".
