Mr. UPS man arrived and in the estimated timeframe. This install is at least a 2 person job. The OEM wing stands are bolted on from the inside. This Voltex wing stand uses an Allen head bolt from top and washer and nut from the inside. In between they supply a rubber piece to help clamp the stands. But this design makes it near impossible to do with the amount of space there is. On top of that the supplied bolt is too short. Long story short, i couldn’t get the washer in and put in the nut. With just the nut threaded all the way, there was about 1mm bolt poking through.

This time I didn’t drop any bolts inside but I manage to let the entire rubber piece slide all the way in. I thought I was fvcked. Then I drive the up the ramp in the garage and my friend opened the trunk lid and closed it. The piece slid all the way back down. Crisis diverted and I didn’t have to shed any tears.

Otherwise, it’s a beautiful wing. I’ve never bought anything like this so I’m going to enjoy it. The wing is wide but not wider than the car itself. It didn’t come with any instructions, for the most part it is self explanatory. One thing I wasn’t sure about is the wing to the top of the wing stand, whether the plate with adjustment holes should be on the outside or inside. I opted for the outside so the adjust holes are visible.

I will share better pictures tomorrow when I bring the car out.

Finally installed my Flapfab Stone Guards. Ended up breaking all but one of the tabs ?‍♂ but I ordered extras before hand.

Gotcha! I’m at 750mi…. wonder if it’s still worth it.
I’d say so, I had it done on my FK8 and in the 6 years I owned it I never had a single paint chip where it was applied. Though I will say I am not a fan of how expensive it is! Could’ve gone FBO or a set of spoon wheels lol.

I plan on keeping this car for a very long time so I guess it’s a good investment

I took the plunge with the BNR-2001R BlendMount that the company says won't fit the Type R after seeing someone else say they successfully installed it with the OEM mirror assembly. I have the FitcamX dash cam, so my situation is a bit different.

I had to remove the mirror housing halves for the FitcamX, mount the BlendMount pushed as close to the windshield as possible, and then modify the FitcamX housing by cutting a rectangle in the back to fit the BlendMount arm through.

IMO it looks clean with everything put back together. You can't even see the hole cut into the FixcamX housing when everything is together.

Since the Voltex wing didn’t come with any instructions or illustrations, I just made my own guesses on where certain pieces would go. Well, I was wrong. Called up Evasive yesterday evening to ask why the bolts are so short and how threading the washers and nut was virtually impossible, they made a suggestion based on the pieces I was describing.

This morning my friend came back over to help me, take off the wing, the stands and redo the install. This time I placed the rubber piece in the slot created by the removal of the OEM stand, and suddenly the bolts were long enough for the washers and nut.

This wing is never coming off. Till death do us part.

Thank you.

Funny thing with that, my sales rep asked me for pictures. I thought he was going to only share the pictures when potential customers asks for it. Then he asked me for my IG handle and I responded, I browse and don’t post, I’m old. Next thing I know, my pictures are on their IG.
