Was switching out the ball joint camber plate to adjust camber and noticed metal shavings falling out when I loosen the 2 bolts. The bolts was torqued to 80ftlb. The ball joint was on car for 5 track days running -3.8 (which was too much for re71rs on stock suspension).

Is this cause for concern?

Sintered pads require no bedding at all, just mating to the surface. Since I had brand new rotors, my brakes were perfect at the get go. Usually I'd waste almost a full tank of gas bedding in my rpx following ebc's procedure.



Yeah, I didn't even bother measuring them after a 50+ laps trackday. They seem brand new. I just wished they had less initial bite. The SR21 would certainly be too much.

How's caliper temperature with SR11? I heard sintered pads transfer more heat back to calipers and in turn to fluids and that's the only thing holding me back from getting them.

Ironically I was just discussing about this. I wasn't using temperature markers, so I really don't know. The amount of energy converted to heat should be the same, but the thermal conductivity of these pads might be higher indeed. Ti shims should help you with that.

I just noticed one of the events I'm considering end of September is $665 for 3 days at mid Ohio. I thought it was just a 2 day event. That sounds like a good way to spend a long weekend ?

My calipers are very slightly discolored I have titanium shims as well.

Interesting, your issue is one of the worries I have with adjustable lower ball joints. I visited Evasive in person and asked Mike about their development on the adjustable lower ball joints. He had mentioned they went through a couple of revisions to what they sell now to ensure there was enough material to withstand sheer loading on the ball joint. He noted that they have not encountered any further issues, with the exception of the occasional dust boots being torn.

I'd be happy if they would just make a fixed version, like what is offered for the S2000.

Here is a pic of the other side, where I try to collect all the shavings. Torqued it to 96ft lb this time around. Yea, I much rather have a fixed version as well.

I agree. Just give me a -2 option and I can adjust from there.

I have a HPDE event this weekend, and I am kicking myself for not installing my adjustable ball joints and camber/toe arms Feeling very lazy. I am still going to get an alignment with the pins pulled up front. Meh. Oh well maybe before the next event in September..

I guess I'll at least change my oil ?

Btw I drained 0w20 after 1500 miles and a 2 day track event. Oil was a little sparkly. Ugh. I hope it's just new engine break in? Second oil change and 6600 miles total. I am moving up to 0w30 and a thicker 30 weight based on 2 days of bob is the oil guy "research" ?
