Shit bro, that was hard to watch. Those climbing esses man, they are no joke. The most thrilling sequence of corners anywhere, yet once you are committed, there's no backing out. I've done like 60 odd track days, at various tracks. VIR is the ONLY track I haven't taken my wife out on. Those eases are just a little too scary.

And no shame in screaming, cause this is real life and a million things go through the mind. I remember when I lost my brakes on my EVO X at Blackhawk Farms (notoriously hard on brakes), I ran out of road and hit the grass and I was screaming SHIT SHIT SHIT. Was able to avoid catastrophic damage. Just a few scratches and a busted up oil cooler.

Glad you're ok! Will miss your updates. Hope you come back strong again brotha!

Glad you’re ok Ben, I’ve been following your journey with the R and was stunned to see your vid on YT. No shame in screaming, you never know what the outcome will be, scary as hell. Heal up fast! RIP R.

I would have crapped my pants, and when you see that you are going to crash that hard anybody will scream it’s a natural response.

He’s ok. Bruises and sore but walked away from my chats with him. Tell you what, modern engineering has come a long way. That roof looks very solid for a car the rolled probably 3-5 times.
My FD RX7 would have folded like a tin can and the video might be enough for me not to track it again at VIR and go with my FL5. Airbags = good.

Geez, glad he’s ok. Car enthusiasts may complain about modern cars being too heavy but this is a testament to the reasoning behind it!

What this proves is that @PointByPatrol is lucky to be alive. And it also shows how strong the car is. This could have easily ended badly yet he lives to fight another day with just being beat up and sore.

I rolled a car on the highway once after being run into the median by an 18wheeler. I was going much slower but it’s such a helpless feeling. so glad you’re okay man! Cars can be replaced and we’ll all be looking forward to your next project.

looking forward to hearing about your insurance process too.. in time.

Yes, I screamed, and you would too! If you have anything negative to say, DM me personally so that I can give you my address.
That was hard to watch. I'm glad you are ok, Ben. You know I have been following your journey since the FK8 days. You are not the first and won't be the last to crash a car on a track. I've been there. Please go check yourself with a doctor. Not just once, but after a week or two again. I hope you are alright, brother.

Thanks man! I've had several instructors watch the video. The car never slowed, even on a hill with no throttle. They've chalked it up to a really sever tail wind.

That sounds scary. That helplessness feeling is just too awful. I hope you have a speedy and full recovery.

If you want to take a deeper look at it someday, I can help you decode the LogR logs of that session. But for now, just focus on your physical and mental health.
