Had a dealership in California tell me 20k over MSRP. I said "I can't afford a penny over MSRP but I will buy the car within the hour if you want to sell it" and he said "We already had an offer at 19k". I was flabbergasted, I repeated to him "You had an offer at 19k, and you guys didn't take it over $1000?" Had to laugh and hang up at that one. Didn't even care if I was burning a bridge with that dealership.

Just got this back from Wheaton Honda in Edmonton AB Canada.

They want add ons which add up to over 40% of MSRP.

$10,000 for 3m Wrap and $4,000 for a ceramic coat lmao.

I seriously doubt someone offered 19K, greedy dealership would have taken that deal ASAP.

I’m sorry brother but you’re talking making USD and spending CAD.
We’re up here making CAD spending CAD.

would you pay 40% of msrp for a 3m wrap and a ceramic coat AFTER your dealer mark up?

Im telling you that we in the US are paying a LOT more than you and that your price converted to USD would be a good deal for us.

But would you pay an extra 40% of MSRP for a 3m wrap and a ceramic coat ON TOP of your dealer mark up?

If my msrp was $37.5k usd which is what this goes for in Canada, absolutely. There was a lot of stuff on that list. Canadians whining about accessories when they have a low msrp and no straight up mark up. ?

I dont feel bad for that. I do sympathize with low overall production/ availability for that market along with the shifty dealer rug pulls im hearing about.

My question to you is would you pay 40% MSRP on top of your dealer mark up for a 3m wrap and a ceramic coat?

I have a feeling that I’ll buy this car at MSRP in a few year’s time.

I paid $55k for a new 21 M2C (manual with exec). They were going for 5-9% off MSRP. Granted, this was at the start of COVID before prices exploded, but still, I’d never imagine people would be lining up to pay $5-15k more for a Civic.

you need to go back to remedial math….those two add up to 30% and id pay that if i could get your artificially low msrp - make sense or do we need to get a 4 year old in here to translate?
