I'm sorry, could you list the cars that 70k opens up one more time? Idk if 50+ mentions of that is enough for everyone to understand ?
Yeah, its beating a dead horse at this point. ADMs are bullshit but I want a CTR as my next DD. All of those cars lose out on the practically aspect, get, worst gas mileage and have higher maintenance costs. I seriously considered getting a Dodge Charger Hellcat but decided against it because of those reasons.

I can see how someone would consider those options if they are getting the CTR as a second 'fun' car but not thats not the case for everyone. It always amazes at how some people literally are incapable of showing empathy lol. Like its okay to disagree but still understand lol.

I am a Honda guy and agree on the practicality and such. My thought is if you are willing to pay 50K plus why would you not just get the TLX Type S?

TTL? is that the sales tax? For the sales tax is it the overall price of everything or is it just the MSRP thats taxed?
I believe everything is taxed.

Manual? No

Better MPGs? No

Hatchback? No

More leg room (than the civic hatchback)? No

Its objectively less practical than the Civic hatchback. They made the car bigger but somehow give it less legroom. I honestly don't care if someone gets it but it personally doesn't have what I'm looking for. It also doesn't look that cool (to me). I'd look into the Integra Type S (assuming it is what I think it'll be) but it doesn't exist.

Pretty sure you can get one without dealing with the ADMs bs so thats a positive though.

CTR is faster, more fun, more special, better resale value, more fuel efficient and at the top of its class for performance. The TLX Type S is the slowest in its class, the least fuel efficient, does have the best stereo and AWD system, also the best looking in its class (subjective yes I know). The TLX can be had for MSRP a lot easier than the CTR though.

Full disclosure I own a TLX, so I’m TLX biased but CTR > TLX Type S

for me (speaking on behalf of myself and no one else), it's more of the "want".
I don't want the TLX Type S, I want the FL5 Type R...
The Type S is a great car, but I don't want to "settle" for something that my heart do not whole heartedly want. I understand money is a huge driving factor, but I should get what I "want" if I am to blow that kind of dough...no sense settling...if for $10k car, than ok to settle, but not when pricing approaches $50k or $60k.

unless I can not afford it, if I can, I will buy what I "want".

(not sure if above makes sense) :)

I understand that completely. If your cash, do what you like with it.

For me it's MSRP or nothing. I am also willing to wait 6 months to a year if needed. If by that time I still can't find one I'll buy something else (maybe doing that sooner).

Totally. I would"settle" for a BRZ, Si, or Elantra N at MSRP, but if I'm spending more, I'd definitely want something that I WANT.

True settling for me would be a base manual civic

all good my man...I will speak for myself again, as I'm an anxious A-hole so I'd paid extra.
I don't have a anything against $$$; all power to those who can wait!

I'm completely powerless against the Type R...:)

I had a 2020 and put nearly 30K on it so I got my fix. They are amazing cars.

For me, even though I am a die hard Honda guy, once I cross that 50K mark there are cars I'd choose instead as I'd rather have them I am just trying to stick to a budget.

My daily is still a very cool Honda so I can get by for a while.

The more time that passes, even though I am confident the car market is going to eventually catch up with this atrocious economy, the more that I just want to shell out $ and secure a FL5. I feel like I can get one for around 55k OTD in next year or even less, but what's an extra 5-8k to have it now :hmm:

I do plan to have this car for the foreseeable future and I've driven this RSX type s for over 10 years...someone talk me out of it.

You can definitely get one for 55k OTD right now. I got a quote for 56.8k OTD with the CF wing. It's doable. You just gotta either drive a bit out of state or show up in person to negotiate the ADM.
