Filter is aftermarket. Honda wouldn’t have covered shit

if filter was a Honda filter they would’ve blamed the third party who did the oil change

and if filter was a Honda filter and if the oil change was done in the dealer. They’d probably try and blame it on something else. For the sake of not having one of their flat rate mechanics down a few days while he’s doing warranty work.

Yes but at an unfair rate man. Some manufacturers don’t even pay the dealership for diagnosis. Hence why dealerships end up tackling things in particular ways. Yeah some make shitty calls but it’s almost by design.

It filters like shit and it flows like shit. For less money there is literally a metric fuck ton of better filters. That’s been an established fact for decades

Realistically any product or oil filter by any brand will have a chance of failure. We don't really have published numbers about which oil filter has less likelihood of experiencing a failure.

I know people will Rave and love to sit there on Bob the Builder oil guy website and send oil in for analysis and all that stuff however the best thing is use the fuel recommended, change oil at regular intervals and use good quality products.

Think about all the cars you see that are high mileage or driven in other parts of the world, that are still functioning do you really think they're sending their oil for analysis and doing research on which oil to use and what not?

Take for example cars that are driven as taxis especially in New York City they easily will have over 250k miles. They are driven hard. The only thing they do is ensure they change the oil at proper intervals. Ive run cars with over 300k, as long as you do maintenance and the engine doesn't have a known catastrophic issue (Nissan's milkshake of death for example) you will be fine.

Most people spend more time on forums online and parking their vehicles and raving about how few miles they have when they should just be out there enjoying it. They are made to be driven. So shut up, get in and drive!

Speaking of that. U remember when mobile one did that study on taxis running their synthetic vs conventional oil? I think it was early 2000’s? Pretty interesting stuff when they cracked the motors open

I've had flat gasket filters leak before in extreme cold.

OEM 15400-RTA-003 or HAMP filters for me. Several decades of owning and working on Hondas as well and I've had no issues with them.

The OEM filters have always been good especially if you use the made in Japan OEM filters that people have been using for decades. That's why I put the part number of the filter since there are different OEM filters from Honda.

Instead of saying they're shitty, why not not include the proof of why they are shitty, cause the whole "trust me bro" is getting tiring.

Why should I? Either stay ignorant or go on that bob is the oil guy forum. That’s where it’s at. Like why do I need to do other’s research for them? Subarus filters are shit too. So are Toyotas tho a few years ago they did make some improvements apparently. Nissans are not great either as well

to be real with you. Thanks to me not listening to y’all and your “trust us the oem filter is enough” I was able to properly educate myself after a few minutes of googling.

so. Either keep on keeping on. Or get a better one. I honestly don’t really care what y’all choose but I sure as fuck am not gonna sit here and let mf’s unknowingly bullshit folks about the quality of the oem filter.
