As the title says, I’m looking for options beyond the OEM rear spoiler upgrade. I’ve been searching around, but, as usual, I was late to the party—Garage Unique’s spoiler is discontinued. I’m hoping to find something that lets me remove the OEM spoiler and mount a new one in that same style.

Long story short, I once bought one of those eBay specials that I think was the same design as AF Dynamics but lower quality. It didn’t even come pre-drilled with holes, and installation was a total pain. I ended up throwing it away. I really don’t want to go down that road again. You get what you pay for, and although I spent a couple hundred back then, there weren’t many options available at the time.

Now I’m looking for a spoiler that I can install easily and that has the clean, Garage Unique look. So far, I’ve mostly found the OEM upgrade (the one I already bought) and the Seibon option—neither of which I’m really into. I wish I could get a Voltex or a Spoon spoiler, but I just can’t justify spending that much right now.

Does anyone know of a good alternative that fits the look and can be mounted easily?

I’m not really sure what to do with the car right now. I’m thinking about maybe adding a front lip and a spoiler, or just waiting until it’s the right time to do wheels, tires, and suspension. I drive it daily, and it’s been sitting in the garage for almost two months while I recovered from surgery, so I don’t want to make any big modifications but like everything I bought it and was gone to leave it "stock" for whatever that means 😂.

What about PRL risers + stock wing? Our shop car set up before we go Voltex or APR.

I definitely will look into this I’m just a little hesitant on taking apart the car but also can make the installation of the trunk led light—I haven’t forgotten what we talked about! I’ve just been all over the place lately. I’ll definitely be bringing my car to your shop for the upgrades.

Let us know! We are PRL dealer so we can def install the risers if you want as well. (Or any other wing for that matter)

As suggested, wing risers might be right up your alley, PRL or Cusco are the best options available.
Other rear wing upgrades to consider include:
1). Result Japan GT Wing
2). R.M.K Design(Remark) GT Wing
3). Dark Matter Carbon GT Wing

Blitz and Maxton Design make a gurney flap add-on for the FL5 as well.

I was looking at this Dark Matter one it looks smaller than the OEM. It looks cool, but it’s definitely on the smaller side. So far, the Remark raisers looks cleaner since the branding isn’t plastered all over the part. I also found this one from Garage Vary that could pair nicely with the Remark.

I was gonna mention them but I think the wait might be a bit long since it’s a JDM piece. Seeker also has great looking option

How do the risers affect aero balance?

They move the spoiler to be more in line with the actual roofline which improves its' effectiveness. It increases downforce with a relatively negligible increase in drag. With the Cusco risers you can also adjust the angle of attack of the spoiler which allows you to change the aero balance to your liking. I'm unsure if other versions allow for angle of attack adjustment.

I personally do not like how risers look. This is my opinion so no shade to what others like. I don't think the wing shape works with the wing risers design wise. I highly doubt that it will add that much down force or change the cars behavior that much but with aero you will never know unless its tested which is the nice thing about the OEM carbon wing or some others that actually test their products.

I do like the garage unique wing which is what the picture is on the red car, price wise is much lower than Voltex, ect and uses the stock risers. Don't think they tested the wing for downforce but some might not care. I say after buying the cheap replica and being unhappy with it (buy once cry once, buy nice or buy twice, I have done this before myself) I would say save for what you actually like and just buy it. Also remember that when you buy something nice and you get rid of the car you can sell it and loose a lot less than say buying a AFD and reselling that.

My plan is to stay stock....good balance. If I go faster than that NBR time....then I may invest in more stuff for aero.

My braveness limits would likely come into play well before I needed more aero....

That’s why I was interested in the Garage Unique, but like always late to the party and they aren’t making it anymore, I will save my money and maybe make the investment properly by going the Voltex route or even Spoon, even though they are equally expensive. I’m not looking for more downforce or anything similar; I just want something that looks cool to me, because kids today aren’t like when I was growing up. The cool car isn’t really a thing anymore, so I’m going to invest in something high-quality, like you said. The part that really frustrates me is waiting for a part and dealing with all this JDM “discontinued” pricing I just can’t deal with it.
