clip1: Road uppercut caused a radar detector wire to pop out from the head liner (can be seen right of rear view camera) Shifted the whole rear view mirror and my arm rest popped up. At the time of driving and reviewing this footage it did not appear anything was on the ground. S2000 in front said they also felt some bad compression and bent their front fender a smidgen but didn't have a smack like mine.
clip 2/3: Seemingly small bumps/ridges scattered across the ground at moment of impact. Did not expect them to hit that hard.

The smacks are LOUD in the car

Is it the factory rubber band tires? I'll need to take off both front wheels Monday and inspect. Wonder if a bent arm or something else is possible.

Suspension in comfort
Only eibach sportline springs

Stock wheels/tires 265/30/19

if you balance the wheels you can detect whether a wheel was bent during those impacts, those seemed pretty hard i would definitely check front end components arms joints / suspension / wheels tires etc

i had a big front end hit similar to this that resulted in a bent front left wheel with no other effects

18s will help a bit but those were reasonably hard impacts either way

At worst hopefully it’s just wheels/tires

The phantom/bump hole or those seemingly small bumps are punching way above their weight class …

People must be hitting these holes/bumps day in and day out since they’re in line of travel if you remain in your own lane.

Dang, brother, that is rough.

Potholes, maybe?
I watched the video 7 or 8 times. It looks like there was a patch of cracked asphalt that was also kind of a pothole in the first clip, that went under your front right wheel.
With all the shadows coming from the right side (West?) of the road, it is difficult to see.

Of course I am Mr. Unslammed over here, so I can't stand the 30 sidewall rubber bands, and I will not lower my FL5, probably ever.

Matter fact, I already (almost) regret putting 275/35 ZR19 tires on my Honda Modulo Forged 19X9.5 wheels, because 275 is too skinny.
Next change of tire, those wheels will be getting 285/35 ZR19 tires.

Maybe you can drive back out to that stretch of road in another Unslammed vehicle, and see up close how bad the potholes are.

Mr. Unslammed recommends an 18 inch wheel with a 40 sidewall tire.
Most people on this forum are gonna vehemently disagree with that recommendation.
That's just me.

I hope you can figure it out and get your car & wheels back to tip top condition.

Cheers.

Probably more unsolicited advice...

Go with at least 275/35 ZR19 on stock size 19X9.5 wheels.

It was rough world begriff indeed as the experiencer and the witness. Though strangely the s2000s on 255/40/17 felt no SMACK incidents

It’s kind of far out but I will eventually make it out there in my truck to do some hiking trials. Will inspect then.

I do have hypergram konig 18s coming in but due to back order/manufacturing issues they state end of month or early next year… 265/35/18 was the plan

Do these new cars auto calibrate to speedometer if tire size is off from factory? 265/35/19 or 265/40/18 you mentioned.

No,
the car does not auto-calibrate speed for larger or smaller diameter tires.
You will have to use your phone's Guugle Maps or other GPS Nav in order to know your real speed at the car's indicated speed.

For an extreme example (and I doubt anyone else will go to this extreme),

With my 275/45 ZR18 tires, at FL5 indicated 60 MPH, I am actually going about 65 MPH.
I have to be REALLY careful going through those 20 MPH School Zones, and usually drive at about 17 MPH indicated, just to be safe.

With the 275/35 ZR19 tires it is not as extreme, because this diameter is lower than the 18 inch tire, which is, even for me, a little too big.

Maybe there is a way to get the ECU flashed at a custom shop? ... Maybe with Hondata?
I haven't looked i to it yet because I haven't settled on my perfect "Unslammed" tire size yet.

Tiresize.com is a good resource to get decent estimates on what different tire widths and diameters will do vs. your original tire size.

Here, I compare a generic 265/30 R19 tire to a 275/35 R19 tire.
Of course, different brand and model tires will be slightly different sizes.

You can also play around in the website to see how different offsets may look.
Pretty cool site.

We've got a pretty thin tire and looking back at the video those were some pretty bad potholes. One looked like a filled pothole that didn't have time to settle and got the filled asphalt pushed up into a ridge. Suggestion 1 is find some better roads.

The 275/35 is a good suggestion if you have some shit ass roads you're driving on, but it is a decent change in tire size. Something to be aware of from a visual perspective. When it comes to changing wheel/tire sizes I always suggest seeing it in person if possible before rolling the dice based on pictures from the internet.

Yup,
The looks definitely change with different size tires.
Of course, to me, Sporky, a.k.a. "Mr. Unslammed", Thicc (with 2 Cs) tires always look way better than rubber bands. Thiccc (with 3 Cs) tires look even better to me, because, I dunno, the psychological peace of mind that comes with knowing Thiccc tires protect the wheels and the overall car much better than Thinnn (with 3 Ns) tires do.

Once again, this is how my "Unslammed" Sporky brain works. Most here will likely disagree.

Cheers.

Aren’t the stock wheels flow formed? I know it doesn’t make the bullet proof but I can’t help but think it shouldn’t be the wheels unless he hit the mother of all pot holes?
