How was the install? Looks great!
I installed a set of these a couple of months ago. I had never used/installed a rivnut before so it probably took me a lot longer to set up than it should have. Its a great upgrade and well worth the modest cost.

Had a set of Continental 275/35/r19 Extreme Contact Sport 2's mounted. The extra sidewall helps with the ride and I can't detect any noticeable drop in performance - granted, I haven't tracked it or done any autocross. This seems like a nice alternative to the stock rubber band tires for owners that mostly street their Type Rs.

How is it closing the hood? Do you have to press down on the hood to fully close it?

Closing is fine. It works just like any good or trunk with hood struts. You do have to press it to a certain point and then it will lower down easily. To fully close it I hold the hood about 30 inch’s and gently drop it down. I don’t like pressing on the front of the hood to close it.

That's the route I was planning to go with, if the stock Michelin weren't so cheap and enticing! Looks great, BTW. Are you lowered or is that on stock ride height?

Stock height (should have noted that). I blew one of the stock Michelins after what I would characterize as premature wear and got a sidewall puncture in one of the replacements. Used that as an excuse to go this route - which I had wanted to do for a while. No regrets so far. Because I am not lowered this tire size looks much better in my opinion.

...Lexus and other luxury car brands use it as OE...
Thank you for posting the vids you did. I feel like these are the automotive equivalent of a Shake weight ;)

Although, these posts did give me an idea to start watching ebay for cheap/used Lexus units to experiment with for a fraction of the price new. There are a couple models that look promising.

Granted, the fab time involved may negate the price difference.

Really,
Installed the Wunderladen Street RMM and the front LTLD Performance Stabilizer from TSP. Was only able to install the front stabilizer for now, didn't really feel like taking apart the rear bumper.

Haven't really driven it much, but NVH at cold startup is rough just like any upgraded RMM and does die down when the car warms up to idle. Barely any additional NVH with the AC on. Hopefully it will break in like other RMMs and soften a little, but I still have Rigid Collars to install to hopefully help with all that.

I will say, installing an RMM on the FL5 a bit of a pain in the ass compared to the 1.5T.
