Who needs power when my VTEC goes BWWAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!
And some times you’ll hear a whine whine even though it’s not supercharged. That’s why I always carry cheese with me when that noise comes from a distance šŸ˜†

I’m old as fuck dude. I remember when the 8th gen came out. ā€œThe k engine sounds like shit. The b engine sounds better. Why would Honda do thisā€

I don’t think we as a community will ever be happy šŸ˜‚

I had a type s and eventually traded in for the 8th gen si when the 4 door released. Since Florida had no emissions I immediately went 4-1 headers, cat delete and custom mandrel bent 3ā€ exhaust+ tune. IMO it sounded glorious. The b engine purists disagreed tho. That’s ok. Everyone can have an opinion.

I think out of the box the type r sounds like shit. Its induction sounds are nice, the exhaust note sucks and that fake engine noise is gross. I don’t understand why does the type s get a slightly nicer sounding exhaust with way better real engine sounds pumped into the cabin and the r doesn’t. Mind boggling. And for folks that track, the fake engine sounds are important. I get that. But it could’ve just ran with the type s’s method. Having the extra mic/knock sensors transmit the current sound into the cabin.

but with a little money + the type s pops + tuning so the rear valve works like the type s’s. It’ll sound nice enough. IMO. My neighbor has a fl5 set up this way with the apexi. Sounds great. Other neighbor kept the stock exhaust, dual resonators and all but did swap to the tsp dp and swapped front pipe too iirc? He’s also tuned with the type s pops and his rear valve was tweaked to work like the type s’s. Sounds good too.

I’m on stock dp. Stock tune. Invidia q300 (always loved the q300 muffler sounds. Always) but removed the resonator for a megaphone. I think my type s sounds pretty good. I’m definitely happy with it

I think the problem with how things are seen lie with us. The old mother fuckers. Our expectations are unrealistic šŸ˜‚ Bro go ask a 20 year old to name the best top 3 rappers ever. You’ll see what I mean. If you’re disgusted by his answer, you may also be an old mother fucker šŸ˜‚

Exactly back in the 90s/2000s people on forums and Hondalife would have wet dreams about their dream Civic being turbo from the factory or having a Type R available in the US.

To Hondas credit they delivered.

A new contender. Tanabe/Revel

Kinda crappy video and not sure why stainless steel tips aren't ana option and why everything is dual tips?

Regardless not sure what mode they tested in and audio recording is crap and sounds like exhaust valve rattle?

Just a hunch but maybe it sounds better with a dual tip when developing the new system.

That’s one of the ones I’m considering for mine, but like you said, the rattle is probably a turn-off. I really think the strongest contender is the Hybrid Racing because they offer the polished-tip version. I believe all the exhausts are dual tips, maybe because it’s cheaper to produce than triple tips. The other option is the Blitz, but you get hit with the tariff, and not everyone is ordering it because of the tariff situation.

That rattle, which I presume is the exhaust valve, is loud and annoying. Since this a prototype, they may correct it when it gets to production. Seems ill advised to release a promotional video with such an audible rattle. Also interesting a dual tip arrangement is outfitted with an exhaust valve.

Possibly but i also think might be easier to design/tune the sound?

Also seems a lot aren't fans of the tri tip.

There's also 27won which seems to sound good, MBRP, remark and milltek.

I'd like a downpipe at some point so maybe will do a reso delete for now.

Yes odd to release a prototype video with such bad rattle. Could also be mic placement but still.

I would never buy from 27Won. They just developed a product to ride the hype, and when they get criticized, they just cry about it. Awful company—I will never spend a penny on them. Remark is amazing, but they don’t offer a cat-back. I understand that having the whole system after the downpipe gives you a little extra power, but I don’t want to be obnoxious anymore. In my opinion, a cat-back is the best option for an older demographic like the one I’m in.

I do think 27won they fixed the tip issue? Ive purchased intakes and whatever without issue from them.

Yes im in same boat as you. I just want some volume in R mode and am ok with it being quiet in comfort for long trips or when not trying to attract attention. Just sucks there's not a middle ground.

Sounds more like the valve rattling if so that horrible.
