Is there any drone 60-70mph? Seems to be a pretty moderate volume, but I haven’t found many videos. I want to notice it, but nothing ear shattering. This or the Remark are my main contenders. Leaning towards the HKS.
nothing really until a pretty small range if you are in 6th gear and holding on light throttle it can get a lil annoying in the 76-79mph range at those rpms (i think around 2800-3100ish, and otherwise if you keep it above or below that speed it is great. even at 76-77 mph, if you're not on throttle it's not droning. a small compromise imo

That remark triple sounds great. I wonder how it compares with the valve closed to the dual tip stainless.

That remark sounds great. Wish the tips weren't rolled edges though.

BTW, out of all of these exhausts, which one retains the valves?

There are a handful that retain OE or similar exhaust valve functionality. Milltek, Borla, Magnaflow, Amuse R1 Titan (Triple Tip), Fi, ARMYTRIX, Remus, TPW Engineering, SEEKER, and Remark Sports Touring, are the ones that I know of. The general rule of thumb is if the system uses tri-tip the likelihood of exhaust valve functionality is higher.

The Apexi retains the valve function also.

I recently got the HKS. An upgrade on oem but feel not by much. Honestly was expecting it a bit louder. Only seem to hear it at very low rpms. When driving and with windows down hardly notice it.

Just got installed and hoping maybe after a few miles, weeks it gets a little louder.

Add in a front pipe and down pipe, problem probably solved.

The exhaust will change in volume and tone after about 1,000 miles. I suggest waiting it out before making any changes. Once you put miles on the exhaust and if you're still not completely happy with the volume/tone I would try a front pipe before going downpipe or moving on to another exhaust.

This was something I overlooked when looking for an exhaust. I ended up going with the AWE system, it took a bit over 2 months to receive, fits ok, sounds ok.

I had the HKS with rv6 front pipe for a little over 1k miles. It got a very marginal amount louder after 1k, but it was still very quiet overall. Like you said mostly noticeable in the lower rpms. Ended up switching to Tomei type R.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the best exhaust is whatever is on someone’s car right now if you ask them. The car has not been around long enough for people to have try out different exhausts. And if someone did, that number is small. Their feedback is going to be “better” than someone that installed just one exhaust. The sound and aesthetics is subjective. It won’t matter how many videos you watch, it will be different when you are in the cabin, with windows up or down.

My Apexi is loud. I find it louder than my S2000 that has an OEM cat with Mugen exhaust. My wife feels differently. She thinks the S2000 is louder and less bearable. This however works for me because the last thing I want is my wife being unhappy with me modding the family car.

Now that I know how loud the Apexi exhaust is, if money was no object, I’d try the Spoon exhaust next despite it lacking a valve.
