Data point for Long Island NY, Civic Si’s have 3k-5k mark-up since there aren’t tons of them and Type R’s have 20k but those are just sitting.
Once you hit 10k or over there are lots of other options. Out of state purchase or upstate NY purchase is well worth the hassle to save 10 grand. I think the dealers here will be sitting on those 20k mark-up cars for AWHILE before ultimately selling for well below 20k

I'd go out of state for 2K savings. Grab a $50-100 on way plane ticket and enjoy the drive back.

Is it true that these type R's are very limited production?

I called a local dealer and again was told it will take a few years to get one if I get on the list. Because dealers are only getting a couple per year? So technically speaking shouldn't these FL5 hold value the next few years without depreciating?

I'm still trying to decide if I take the one coming in where I am first in line. I would hate to pass and then not see any available for a couple years unless I want to pay huge markup.
They are. Eventually you will see a lot of them for sell on Carvana and Car Max just like the FK8. A lot of people with deep pockets buy things because they want to be the first only to realize they purchased the wrong car for them when a Basic Tesla Model 3 blows their doors off.

Getting those cars new at MSRP is hard enough and many are knocking on $100k. For under $100k, there's not a lot that realy competes with the CTR if you want: manual, performance, utility. you can do better if you only want performance (SS1LE), or utility (take your pick).
I think a GR Corolla is a good alternative, and since the Morizo and Circuit are limited editions for just one year, there will probably be other limited editions coming in future years.

With Toyota coming out saying the GR Corolla will be limited in production, we will probably see the same or even higher ADM for it unless the market changes drastically

Idk 8000 cars a year for the US is hardly limited production, that's twice as many compared to the FK8.

Do we know Type R numbers per year yet?
I don't think so, and I doubt Honda will release that information anytime soon. I will say in their Type R presentation slides, they showed off how the FK8 allowed them to sell more Type R's than ever before, and I feel like if they pulled out sales numbers to flaunt, they might try and sell even more FL5s than FK8s.

I sat in a Veloster N and base Corolla hatchback. No comparison, the Corolla was way better fit and finish, material quality, build quality, and ergonomics. Yes the layout is a bit dated but not that bad. Even the back seats in the Corolla were somehow very usable.

Theres about 20k FK8s in the US….. Even if it were only 8k that’s still limited when taking into account total Civic build numbers and total population of the US….

Good alternative, Yes. I think as a whole package it’s much less desirable to me but priced adequately

Toyota has already said they are bringing 8000 GR Corollas per year to the US, and Honda's data shows they've sold about 4000 FK8s per year. There will be about twice as many GR Corollas sold. GR Corolla is also priced higher than the FK8 was, so fewer people can afford it.

Therr are 5 dealers around Cincinnati that have them in transit. All of them have $10k mark-ups except for Florence. They want $20k. Lol...

Id be okay paying $3k to $5k ADM but only if they included accessories or tint/ppf.

The dealer in Florence told me their civic sports are selling at 45k.
Haha. Yeah when I was looking for a ST I was told the same thing. Not sure what's up with the KY dealers
