After waiting since 2017 to pick up a CTR I finally gave in and ended up paying $2500 on top of MSRP for Accessories. I was holding out as long as I could but couldn't keep driving the Base Model 3. Needless to say I am happy, the CTR is just great.

I never really considered it...

I guess that I assumed that I have to be at the dealership to sign papers?

I do not buy cars very often, about every 17-20 years

the CTR would be my third new car and probably the last, as I am 60 years old...

I'll research.

thanks!
I had mine signed for and trade in signed for online a week before I saw the ctr or they saw my car

The dealerships that are modernizing are a blessing and I would absolutely buy another Honda from that dealer due to the ease of that whole process

the reason for "only" $5K is because my daughter is buying a Civic Hybrid Hatch from the same dealer this weekend.
well, my daughter decided not to purchase a new car right now, apparently finishing up her PhD is more important than getting a new car, go figure.

so there will be no twofer discount price, i.e. $10K over if I buy just the CTR

I'll wait till prices drop, or she decides to replace her car, whichever comes first.

meanwhile I aligned my 07 FA5 Si and will get new tires (the current Michelin PS AS4 only lasted 15K miles...)

There's no reason to pay over MSRP unless you want to. Bare minimum you can find one at MSRP in another state and pay shipping ($1000-1500 depending on how far away the car is).

I often find this to be a more enjoyable experience as well because you negotiate all pricing over email and sign online. No showing up to a dealership in person only to have things change

Are people really willing to PAY over MSRP on a '24 when the '25s are hitting dealers? In theory, they are a year-old model and will immediately take a depreciation hit.

I don't think a Type R knows what depreciation is. This is one of those that takes a very little hit if any on depreciation. Of course this all depends on locations.

That being said, don't pay over MSRP, I held out for 7 years, including just getting a Focus RS. Glad I waited, but decided to just take the plunge. Good Luck to all.

'24 CTR - red
I grabbed my '24 at MSRP in the middle of October this year. I dont feel like it was that hard - I found two different dealers near me and I had the choice between '25s and a '24. I grabbed the '24 to just save a little cash since there are no differences in the model years.

In hindsight I should have tried to get a little under MSRP, but honestly was happy with the deal offered on my trade & the new car.

The motoringobsession site doesn't seem to have updated for the last month or so - not sure what's going on with it.
Honda changed the API and is no longer easily scraped for MO's tracking tool.

Now that the Type R is close to full release, let’s get a list going for dealer ADM’s. Hopefully this thread dies with a flood of MSRP.

Let the fun begin….

Allegedly and subject to change:

List here thanks to obscure_worship:

I know that Rairdon's Honda of Sumner (Washington) is $8000. That's what I payed.
Honda of Bellevue (Washington) is $25000. That's what I WASN'T going to pay.

Some say the 24 is the better deal since those still get 2 year maintenance included vs the 2025s that only get 1 of maintenance included. 24s are slightly cheaper and they are unchanged between years so you aren’t missing anything by choosing the older model.

Just picked up a 2025 Type R today. Local dealers were all $10k over with someone going down to $5k. Somehow I landed 1 at a very slight discount. Pretty nice car so far.
