Honda west in Vegas is selling their white one for $12,888 market adjustment plus $1,588 in accessories for a total of $58,466.

Idk who these dealers think they are and what kind of market they’re in but they may sell one for this price, but I doubt people will be shelling out that amount of money in this market for a type r.
Its group think. Its the idea that all of the dealers are doing it so we should too. Then they test the waters to see how many fish bite (and no offense to the buyers because it means they are passionate). Then, once the initial nibblers bite, the question is, is it sustainable? Lets say there are 10 primary dealers in each state - do you think there are 10 potential buyers that will bite? That excludes cross pollination where people will travel. I guarantee the initial wave of buyers hit dat like a dog on a milkbone. Then after that you will see the prices come down. Its first adopter FOMO heaven right now.

yeah no doubt. They will sell it at that price I bet, but I won’t be buying it for over 50k before taxes.

Look I'd like a CTR, it's cool - but it's $45k new cool to me. More than that and we're talking recent, low, mileage 911 instead. Even at $45k it's a tough sell over a Mustang for me and I'm a Honda guy.

Ralph Honda near Rochester, NY contacted me today they have a Black one incoming at $10k over, I turned it down, that's idiotic money for a Civic.

Crazy 55K for a civic and that is without considering the crazy interest rates.

maybe our idea of recent and low mileage are different lol. gotta go pretty old and pretty high mileage on a 911 to get it below $100k. 3-4 years ago i was eyeing a lease turn-in 991 Turbo for $140k. Sure wish i had jumped on that. The Carreras +/- S were in the $80s and a great value.

Back on topic. Like others, i like the CTR for $45k but $60k is a tough sell. Unless you REALLY want a hatcback, there are other cars that become very interesting with 4 doors, manual, high performance. The CTR does combine utility, fun, performance and features quite well.

There is a lot of crazy stuff out there with markups. Recently I've talked to multiple Ohio dealerships about an Si or CTR. One dealership (Voss) is at MSRP on both but expecting a wait time (months, indefinite?) due to fewer allocations. Jeff Wyler, Germain, White Allen, Kings are all asking $3-10k over for an Si and $7.5k - 15k over for a CTR. I noticed some of them have lowered from $5k to $3k for instance on an Si. As someone mentioned above, if folks keep buying 'em, this will continue. I'm glad for the folks who have kept true to their customers instead of partaking in the money grab.

I've been watching Porsche (GT3, GT4) and Z06 with $50-100k markups. Gross. I was told no markup for a GT3 or GT4 at a dealership but was #6 on the GT3 wait list and I waited 6 months and only 1 allocation came through. Since the CTR should be produced at a higher rate, i think finding an MSRP dealership and just being patient is a good strategy. Hopefully.

i forgot about another one, Matt Castrucci .. .i went in and asked about the car. the poor salesman couldn't even look me in the eyes when he was telling me about the markups. lol. i know he didn't make the rule but i couldn't help but to laugh as i walked out.

What happens if you total your CTR that you payed 20k ADM on? Would insurance cover you for what you paid?

Insurance would determine what the market value on the car is in the area relative to yours and try to make a fair determination on what it would cost to totally replace your car. So if they feel it'll cost 65k to buy a CTR at whatever condition/miles it was at when you totalled it, then they will give you 65k.
