It was storming there and no customers came in to buy. Had a big breakfest before going there and with my cell charger and camp out. Just had to try to get a Type R and it worked!
Did you start the negotiation below the MSRP or you started with MSRP right off the bat and didn't budge until they caved? I can imagine this took a lot of back and forth.

They were asking MSRP and adm of 10k with 5k of junk. I started at MSRP and kept it there. They drop alittle each time for about 6 hrs or maybe it was 5hrs, but me just stting at the salesperson desk and then in the car....Maybe they were thinking I would leave but I stay to get the car and it work. To tell you the truth I was tired when I took the car home but I was happy to get it. I never done this stunt and hope it's the last time I do.

Not them...they have too much add on's and mark ups., Got it at Ocean in New Port Richey. Are you still in Palm harbor?
Not anymore. Moved to NE FL in 2013 for work. I go back to Oldsmar/Palm Harbor occasionally to see family and friends. I went to East Lake High School and USF, a lot of memories from Tampa Bay for me

After e-mailing around and talking to people for about a week I ended up getting a new CW Type R yesterday in socal.
I was gunning for MSRP, but every dealer was pretty much laughing at me and telling me to go elsewhere. Finally Carpro's el monte gave me a price at 1k over on Boost Blue, I told DCH Oxnard I was heading to buy the car that day and they matched it on their Champ White - had me in and out in about an hour. Came with propack and edge guards - so I'm okay with the 1k extra, plus I got the color I wanted. Didn't try to make me finance with them or anything, i had 4.74% with logix.

If you're in the LA area, hard pass on Pasadena, Thousand Oaks, Airport Marina. My friend works at Galpin and he wouldn't even give me the deal. The only dealer I went into negotiate anything with was Thousand Oaks and it's because they gave me $1500 over email so I figured I could get them down. Had them down to $400 over and they said no last minute. That's kind of what I used as leverage when talking to everyone else, but most were stuck at $2k over and financing through Honda.

There's plenty of CTR's around LA right now so I'd use that to your advantage. Seems like people want to really get rid of their boost blue's and know that champ white is the hot ticket.

Congratulations.

When I was shopping, Oxnard (closest dealership to me) refused to budge, yet Airport Marina was "only" $2K over

Hendrick Honda inPompano will do MSRP. Might have to go back and forth a bit but they've sold a couple at MSRP already. They're currently the only South Florida dealership willing to even entertain a MSRP discussion

I just picked up a replacement 25 Type R as my last one was a lemon. and Honda bought it back. I searched high and low across the US and had trouble finding any dealers that didnt have mark up but finally found one at LeBlanc Honda in New iberia Louisiana! They offer the type R at $1800 UNDER MSRP, but do add a mandatory $800- nano cure coat which is fine. I picked it up today and the deal was super easy and everyone has that southern hospitality there.

Anyways, I dont think youll find a better deal, lol who offers a type R at $1000 under???!

The reason I am posting is they have a white one coming in any day now, and it'll be the same price, please ask for Quinn, hes a nice older guy that hooked me up, and tell him the GRay type R buyer sent you.

Just got my boost blue at MSRP plus $498 in accessories at San Leandro Honda in Bay Area CA. I wanted a bit of challenge trying to get one at MSRP in Bay Area. I contacted all the dealers in the Bay Area for all colors and only San Leandro agreed to MSRP. All the others wanted anywhere from $2K to $15K over.

Capitol Honda in San Jose did get back to me later and are willing to sell one of their many CWs for MSRP plus $2395 in accessories. They are normally asking $7K markup in addition.

I've been shopping around for a new Type R in California. All are pushing dealer-added accessories and mark-up on top of MSRP. I'm not paying mark-up but I'm wondering what these accesories are truly worth. I'm thinking these accessories can't be more than $1,500.

PRO-PACK (all-weather floor mats, trunk tray, wheel locks, door edge guards, mud guards) - Dealer ask is $2,895 but probably worth about $400.

PLATINUM CARE ( Covers, Wheel & Tire, Dent&Ding, Windshield Chip, Key Replacement, Paint Protection ) - Dealer ask is $995 but probably worth about $100.
PPF - Dealer ask is $2,795 but probably worth $500.
CERAMIC WINDOW TINT - Dealer as is $995 but is probably $500.
NITROGEN - Dealer ask is $395 but is probably $1.
Dealer also asking $9995 mark-up.

After all is said and done I'm thinking a CW FL5 with these accessories is about $49,000. Is this a good ballpark? Of course, MSRP is still the gold standard.

There's zero chance I would pay for any of that nonsense. MSRP is also lower now. Find another dealer or go out of state. You can get an FL5 below MSRP if you look hard enough.

This is a trash deal, dealer pro-pack are generally marked up 200-400%(depending on the dealership) purely for profitand to make you feel like you got something if you ask for a discount. Dealer Platinum care is also another purely for profit add-on with very little tangible benefits. The key replacements and wheel and tire coverage can be quite useful but read the fine print. Dealer PPF is generally poor quality film and poorly installed, plus dealerships never do a paint correction before installing the PPF unless they outsource the install to actual professionals. Nitrogen in tires never happens unless they do it infront of you. Cermaic window tint costs the dealership $100 maybe, if they offer a warranty on it(which they should) and you don't mind haggling that price then don't pay more than $300 for it.
