I would love to get the Spoon progressive springs for their ride and handling.

However, I am concerned about the drop...

as is, if I am not super careful, I scrape the front end as I come down my driveway onto the street (fairly steep driveway)

would 3/4" drop be much worse than OEM in this respect?

are there any coil spacers available that can raise the car back to OEM height?

@zumbooruk Hit driveways on an angle slowly like you would stock and your good. I’ve had no issues with my spoon setup.
Why Would you lower it and then raise it instead of just keeping it stock ?
kind of defeats the purpose and design intentions and handling of the Spoon springs.

Thanks,

I guess I don't know much, which is why I asked.

I assumed that the "Progressive" is the secret sauce in Spoon Progressive Springs, not the lowering.

Otherwise, wouldn't any lowering springs behave the same if it is just the lowering that affects the handling?

assuming that I wouldn't raise the Spoon springs, would 3/4" drop make front scraping much worse than OEM?

This is going to be off topic……
Air bags would achieve what you are suggesting. Every other option would require effort that isn’t worth it. It’s up to you if you would want to bag a Type R but then again…..
Max Orido did it

There is many variables in the design of the spoon springs not just being “progressive” lower center of gravity is also factored in to improved handling I’m sure.
Yes your going to be 3/4 of inch lower so your going to have to take more caution entering in and out of driveways vs stock.
With that being said it’s very doable and well worth it imo.

I just installed my Spoon springs and Spoon rigid collars over the weekend. I didn't get much drive time on them, but I can tell you the ride is nice. Plus R mode never bothered me for being stiff, but the Spoon springs helped calm the bounce down a bit.

Its honestly not that big of a drop (just enough to make the car look better and handle slightly better), but you defintely have to be more careful.

Like you, I would scrape my driveway if I wasnt careful on OEM height. Even when I lowered it on spoon springs, as long as I hit it on a big angle, then I wouldn't scrape. It's a more friendly drop than the others such as swift and eibach since its not as low.

The height is perfect IMO. Just installed the Spoon springs yesterday and I'm very pleased. The install was an insane PITA but worth it in the end.
