With 100 temps, bumpy lot with lots of gravel, I decided to use individual mode with comfort suspension and TCS fully engaged. Ended up being 2.5 seconds faster than the run with oversteer! Also by far my most restrained run. My tendency is to push too hard, get on the gas too soon!

What is a competitive build for BS? I’ve got a few auto crosses in after an 18 year break and actually am getting back up to speed nicely. It would be fun to see how fast I could get PAX wise built out to the class limit.

Rear bar and tires? Not a whole lot to do unless you really want to move away from factory dampers. Which will be hard to make since most people who do that will go to coil overs so you'll have do something custom with fixed perch in stock location and be able to use stock springs....

Only other thing is playing with alignment, which is just pull the front pins to max out camber and decide what trade off between rear camber and toe you want since you can only set one....

19"s? Maybe. Most of the wide tire sizes in 19" for the front are usually taller than 26" (ie., RE71RS 275/35-19; 26.6" dia), which would make 2nd gear pretty long for the FL5. I would think 19"s would be a good option to make 2nd gear taller for more wide open and fast courses. Much would depend the size of your local autocross sites and type of courses
Has anyone tried a 275/35/19? I got a set of ITS wheels at a really good price and given the relative lack/cost of Street class legal wheels I figured I’d roll with them as Autocross wheels, at least for now.

26.6” diameter tire will put top of 2nd gear about 68mph. Acceleration out of digs and turnarounds will suffer a bit, but if you have higher speed courses it might pay off

As of now most of my events are at zMax in Charlotte, which does tend to have relatively high speed courses. Might be interesting. 275/30/19 is really close in diameter but only option is RT660. Probably going RE71RS in 275/35 and see how that goes.

The other Type R I ran with at Cleveland Tour had I think 275/35/19s on the car, he was waiting on his 18" Titan 7 wheels but since they were delayed he bought some take off 19s I think. He also ran at Bristol this last weekend.

I ended up just getting 275/30/19 RT660s. Not the fastest tire, but I have some familiarity with them at least and the sizing will be pretty close.

Went to another local event last weekend and… yeah, this car is still shockingly capable stock. Ended up first in BS (of 8) and 6th PAX (of ~85ish).

For those who’ve added front camber and tossed a rear bar onto the car, do you feel like it actually changed the balance much (in general) or is this more of a case where the car gets slightly better in sweepers?

There is a noticeably change in balance between when I ran the car completely stock, to when I threw on tires and rear bar. Between going from thinner wall Karcepts to thicker wall one? Not as drastic.

This last weekend at Toledo after about a month away from everything(I was in New Zealand), in between getting used to the size of the car again and also the tires being quite old on the rear, the car was actually quite loose, like it has never been before at that site. I probably would have backed off on the setting on the rear bar.

Day 1 is finished and 4 FL5's are sitting in the top 11 trophy spots.
The Supra sure is fast. Good luck for Day 2!

Nice to see the FL5 within the top spots at nats. Was just about to ask how they are doing compared to the Supra. Curious to see the times on the second course today!
