Seems like both PRL and HKS intercooler requires cutting out a bracket and relocating the ambient air temp sensor. Has anyone installed the PWR intercooler yet? Based on their photo (and if the highlighted area is said bracket), seems like it can fit just like the OEM intercooler? How's your on-track experience with it?

Yes, PWR is the only aftermarket intercooler currently available that does not require any modifications to the car. Here is an FL5 Intercooler Reference Thread comparing what is available to include identification of any modifications required to install.

@simpleisbest is also running the PWR intercooler. He posted details and PICs in this thread.

The comparison post is great to have in one spot. The Wagner wasn't hard but still needed modification ?

Just to clarify there are other Intercoolers on the market that do not need modifications. One that I recently put on my car is the MDR Intercooler for the FL5 and does not require any modifications to install. It’s a true bolt-on solution, retaining compatibility with OEM charge pipes and hardware and included a bracket on the intercooler to put the temp sensor

I am a huge fan of PWR and will probably become a dealer in the future but I just wanted to clarify that is not the only intercooler that doesnt need modification to the car.

Can you fit the MDR without trimming or removing material from the OEM temp sensor plastic bracket? The picture suggest you still have to modify/trim the OEM bracket to fit the IC.

No you do not have to modify or trim anything at all. It fits perfect it comes with a bracket on the intercooler to hold it.
The intercooler providing a replacement bracket is not the same as "do not have to modify or trim anything at all".

The PWR's 87mm (3.42") core is already pushed to the edge of the backside of the sensor bracket, so it would be interesting to see how the 5.5" core MDR can be fitted without trimming or cutting the temp sensor bracket.

Do you have any pics of the MDR fitted with the OEM bracket still being intact?

You take off the bumper for hpfp installation?
negative just put the intercooler on last week or week before. I’m enjoying driving my ST and it’s Easier to work on leaving it off until
I’m done I have a bunch of mods left for my tune next week. Ps the HPFL is a pain in the butt to remove. I also have spoon front lip lowering springs to do it’s never ending
