Price matching unity performance

Since shipping changes based on location I think they are full of shit. However I think you should just move on if you don't like the price/vendor practices, wasting energy on $30 is not worth it imo

im not stressing over this. It’s just funny how they define price matching. They never replied to the last email so I guess I got them with that logic

In our opinion @Unity Performance is 110% in the right here. There are lots of websites that advertise artificially deflated pricing for products and then "make it up" with shipping costs. TSP's price matching policy is the same as Unity's, we take the full cost into consideration and act accordingly.

Hi Ron, Humza here. I was at the airport returning from SEMA at the time when we last chatted, and have been swamped all week so it fell off my plate to respond. Still have 24 emails to respond to, yours being one of them. I was not stumped by your logic there if that's what you are perceiving.

Since you are sharing here, I may as well post a public response as well.

Our Price Match policy shared here addresses clearly that all costs have to be factored into offering an equal price match. I also communicated with you that this is a standard industry practice. For example, I tried to get an OEM part from HondaPartsNow for myself, and saw that another online vendor had a cheaper price so I sent in a price match request. HPN also gave me the same breakdown, which I totally forgot to factor in and I agreed, so I continued with my purchase anyway

Will you also be creating a thread to mock HPN, or any vendor (which is most if not all of the industry) for having the same set of rules as we do?

As for your question about Local Pick up, yes, if we are selling an item for $100 USD for example and the customer picks up locally then that would be his final cost. If the customer says that a shop on the other side of the country is offering for $95 USD but we see that they are charging for shipping, let's say $10 USD, so that overall cost of $105 is higher to the customer and they'll just purchase from us without any questions asked.

However, if the other company charges $95 USD for the item + free shipping, then yes absolutely we'll honor the price match because it matches the true cost for the customer.

Fellas, I play by the same rules as we all have to. I was just a member of CivicX well before Unity was even a thought, buying parts for my Si, and so I know and respect both sides of the vendor and customer viewpoint.

For as long as the community's known me personally and then as a vendor, I've always put my foot forward to help out wherever I can, to the point of taking a loss on every single HEL Oil Cooler that I sold in a Group Buy early this year, simply because I committed my word to everyone, and I didn't want a miscommunication with the manufacturer on my part to affect the agreement that I had with my customers.

I wasn’t mocking you at all. And I made this post to get opinions from others about this kind of price matching, it was not ment to bash you. I guess its different rules when it comes to like price matching Amazon or Best Buy, not once was shipping factored in for them but oh well your company your rules am I right.

We can't compete with Amazon or Best Buy's terms, their resources far exceed us specialty parts retailers and even wholesale. When we refer to standard industry practices, we don't go as far as thinking what those giants are doing

The reputable vendors want to give that to all their customers, and to further it we're all governed by pricing policies so we don't set prices too high, or on the flip side engage in a race to the bottom.

H&R is one of the few brands that doesn't have a set MAP price, so we all try to self-govern ourselves by setting a price that is both fair to the customer and leaves us some so we can continue to re-invest in our shops.

Without factoring in shipping charges you would never have a fair comparison. A company could sell those same springs for $5 but charge you $350 for shipping and handling. It only makes sense to compare final numbers.
