I see so many wheel widths and offsets here and many look identically flush against the fender. Is there a definitive 18" wheel size with exact width and offset that can fit the the widest tire width and sits flush with fender?
This is because alignment specs (specifically camber) have just as much to do with wheel fitment as the wheel specs themselves.

Many people also are on some sort of aftermarket suspension set up, whether coilovers, springs, LBJs, camber plates etc that all go into wheel fitment.

In short, no there are too many variables that go into "one size fits all", but as the whole thread indicates, a good rule of thumb is

9.5" wide wheels +45 to +35 offset
10" wide wheels +50 to +40 offset

Then comes fine tuning with the alignment specs and tire sizing.

does a 10" width support 275 tires? Does an 18" 275 width tire even fit in the front without rubbing on turns?? I definitely plan to drop the car down to about a finger gap at most.
Yes, and yes. 18x10 +40 on a 275/35/18 tires will run fine unless you are absolutely dumped.

So...

Here is ONE of the variables that pushes the fitment, admittedly, beyond the limit of usable performance. I did it for science... and because fun!

My FL5:

* OEM FL5 suspension
* OEM FL5 damper module
* OEM stock camber.

I installed Pirelli P Zero 275/45 ZR18 summer tires on MITA Motorsports FKS 18X9.0J ET +45 wheels.

Comfort suspension mode is too soft and causes rubbing upon light braking while turning and driving over minor bumps and dips in the road.

I drive only in Sport mode for now, and I still get some rubbing during moderate braking while turning and driving over medium bumps and dips in the road.

Any hard braking will always rub the front tires on the wheel wells.

However, the ride quality is super smooth, which is nice for highway driving.
Priorities, ammiright?

Gonna probably go with 275/40 ZR18 tires next time around on the 18X9.0 wheels.

I hope this little science experiment helps other people decide on proper fitments for themselves.

Cheers!

Doubt you can order to your EXACT specs if they aren't already a standard offering. Check in with some of the site sponsors (LMTLS, Garage IMMI, System Motorsports) to see what is available.
thank you

Yup you’ll be fine as long as it’s a 275/35 or 275/30. Any thicker sidewall might cause rubbing
dumb question but where can I order custom made gram lights or some that have the exact specs I want? looking into those more than TE's. specifically looking for 18/9.5 +45 5x120 and looking to put 285/35/zr 18 on them
MITA Motorsports

This is a Japanese forged wheel maker who will build to your specifications.
Their selection is limited, but they make high quality wheels.

My Mita FKS wheels are built exactly to my requested spec, 18X9.0J, ET +45, and Center Bore 64.1 mm.

I am sure that I could just as well have ordered this wheel in size 18X10.0J ET +45, or 18X10.5J ET +40 if I wanted a wheel so wide. 👍

18x9? why go narrower than the stock wheel?

I wanted a narrower wheel / wider tire combo than OEM.
The wide wheel on narrow tire stock combo may be great for track performance, but it is a bit too stiff and squirrelly for my liking during road and highway driving.
A curb has already reached out and kissed one of my stock OEM wheels. So I like a taller + wider tire on a (barely) narrower wheel for comfort and peace of mind.

Obviously, the 275/45 ZR18 is a bit TOO tall. I'll likely be installing a 275/40 ZR18 next time around.

See my Sidegrades and Unslammed threads for more info if you like.

It's a long thread and search didn't pull anything up of value so sorry if I missed this:

Has anyone fit 285/30R19x10+50 or +55

This wheel offset would push out 5-10mm (instead of the popular 20mm) and the tire would extend 10mm more on the inside and the outside for a total tire/wheel change of 0-5mm more on the inside and 15-20mm on the outside while being .4 inches taller than stock.
