I would simply take a mental note of the additional 5% increase in speed over what is displayed on the speedometer. That 5% difference also reduces mileage registered on the odometer.
Yup. Been doing that in the Wrangler for the last 4 years or so. Always wanted to get the computer reset for speed, but never got around to it.

That's a Wrangler, though... an all terrain low speed crawler. It struggles at 75 MPH.
Perfect speed readout is not priority there.

In my Type R *Touring Edition*, however, I would like to have a fairly accurate speedometer.

Wondering if anyone here has experience with resetting the speedo or ECU for larger-than-OEM tire diameter.

Stock height

Quick question - did the MPG go up with the smaller tire? How's the tire wear pattern? Is it more in the center? When I used spacers with the stock rims, the tire wore half an inch off the center, causing more wear on the inner tread of the tire.

Also, did the speedometer change? Thanks in advance!

Tire is taller, so MPG should increase very very slightly. Although this wasn't measurable.

Wear was uniform in my case, but I did not lower my car. Your case sounds like a toe issue; were you stock height? Lowering the car will effect alignment.

The issue with spacers or a wheel with a numerically lower offset will alter scrub radius, which can effect many things. YMMV, but I would start with testing your alignment.

I no longer have these wheels and am on stock wheels and tires right now, but if I ever do aftermarket wheels again, I vastly prefer +45. Function over form for me.

Got one of our orders in for new wheels.

Volk Racing CE28N Plus M-Spec in Diamond Silver
18x10 +40 5x120

Yokohama Advan Neova AD09 285/30/18 (originally wanted to do 295/30 but 295 was on backorder from our distributor).

We have a set incoming for fall for same spec CE28N Plus M-Spec but in Diamond Dark Gunmetal and will be for sale! Also have a set of landed Diamond Silver (exact same thing you see here) ready to go as well.

When I used 10mm (front) and 15mm (rear) spacers, I was at stock height. After driving a few hundred miles, I noticed the wear marks on the tires were offset by 1/2 inch. I guess in my case, I would need to get an alignment if I decided to replace the wheels with +45 CE28SL.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

All TE37SL is discontinued, our clients have the ability to choose between the two offsets. We typically recommend the +45 for no issues even when lowered up to a 275/285 tire. However, a +38 sits a bit more outward (7mm to be exact) and will work with 255 and select 265 tires at OEM height or a conservative drop. Any lower and rubbing issues may be present. You cannot go wrong with either spec.

Most will go with the +45 for peace of mind and less complications down the road (ie if the car is tracked and they do not want to rub at full compression).
I plan to keep my oem height so can i choose te37 saga sl 265/35 18x9.5 +38 offset would you think that would be safe thanks cause i want a set

Are we able to do 19x10 +40 without rubbing on lowering springs?

Anyone running CE28N+ 18x9.5 I found that the center cap size outer diameter is about 65mm and the inner diameter about 63mm to clip in. These fit perfect and I’m very happy with how they look. So much cleaner looking. Nothing worse than nice wheels with rusty brake rotors in the middle
