After 7,500 miles without any problems, I've come across this question.

The dealer will replace it under warranty. But I understand they'll replace it with the same tank model again.

I could obviously have the same problem again.

Did your coolant expansion tank crack? I think it'd be best to just get a metal one from an aftermarket company if you're really scared. Maybe have the dealer replace the stock one to get the car running, but that would be as much as I'd let them touch the car

I’m waiting for the Origin model to be made again.
I ordered it, then after paying I see that mid August delivery is now shown on their product page.

I figured own the best, and not have to worry about that point of failure again

If 1/10 tanks are bad (Wild guess), the odds of getting 2 back to back are 1/100. Unless you really want a better looking tank I'd just keep on trucking. Some of the aftermarket tanks are having issues of their own.

Or for 60% Origin price and 100% functionality, https://a.co/d/j8Saihv

The only aftermarket tank with leaking issues is the Radium one
tried and true but fuck are the welds and finish on those ugly, they look like toothpaste. The origin is expensive but its very well built, looks incredible. I also like that you can use the OEM cap. I get it its in the engine bay and some might not care cuz you never see it but I just like the look of the origin and its MIUSA

I went with the Origin. it’s a fantastic piece that fits exactly like the OEM plastic tank it replaces

So, now I'm thinking of "tanking" my credit to get an Origin tank in Black Anodized finish.

May I ask you if you needed to purchase some coolant and top up after the install?
I did purchase new coolant prior to the the tank replacement. I clamped off all the hoses prior to unclamping them from the OEM tank. I then drained the tank after it was removed and replaced the amount that was drained with fresh coolant. It was probably overkill and I probably could have just reused the drained coolant and been fine doing it that way. I literally lost just a few drops of coolant thanks to clamping the lines and being careful about it
