Oof, I was originally going to order some parts overseas in an attempt to save ~$100 but it looks like it will be a wash and possibly even worse with the tariffs/duties.

It looks like as of today, there is finally cheaper shipping on rims from Black Hawk. If was always $600+ before, today there is LA or NY ports for $300!

I have a question did you pay the tariffs to black hawk Japan when you placed your order or did you pay ups when they delivered it

They probably did that because the 15-20% tariffs will get you on the backend. I'm sure Black Hawk Japan's US sales have dropped dramatically in the last couple of months.

I recently paid $40 duties on a <$200 order. Be careful with what you buy in these uncertain times.

Hi,
I’ve also ordered parts from BlackHawkJapan and had positive experiences with them.

Based on my research, if a car part is made from steel or aluminum, it’s subject to an additional 50% duty because it’s considered a derivative of those metals. This surcharge doesn’t apply to parts made from non-metal materials like carbon fiber or plastic, which typically fall under a 15% tariff due to Japan’s country of origin classification.

The biggest challenge tends to be with UPS, as they often struggle to keep up with the constantly changing tariff rules. You’ll need a bit of patience—it’s fairly messy right now. The UPS Brokerage hotline is 1‑866‑493‑7140, but the most effective way to resolve duty classification issues is to email them with your tracking number at [email protected].

I recently ordered a carbon fiber intake from BHJ, and UPS initially processed it as a steel/aluminum part, which triggered the 50% duty. After I called the brokerage team and explained it was carbon fiber, they corrected the classification and removed the extra charge. Just note that UPS also adds a $20 brokerage processing fee on these shipments.

Tariffs are paid to the carrier (e.g., UPS, DHL, FedEx).

Can you pay cash or debit card
The transaction is done at the carrier site online. They will only schedule to deliver when it’s paid.

Of course it's not good for us, but determining which items arrived prior to the tariffs requires a separation of items pre tariff and post I would think.

Also, I don't know anything about shopping sites, but I wonder if it's even possible to manage which order gets tariff vs. not when ordering thru the website for the same item
