After testing many FL5 intakes on the market, MST found most follow the same basic design. During real-world driving of a stock FL5, one issue stood out — weak and unresponsive low-RPM acceleration. So MST completely redesigned the airflow system from the ground up.

So simply adding this intake onto a stock FL5 results in +35 HP / +54 Nm (39.83 ft-lbs. torque) at the wheels? Impressive...

Dyno graphs show the "Baseline 2025 honda civic type-r fl5, all stock and hood closed run 4 gear" having a max torque output of 429 Nm or 316.43 ft-lbs. Even more impressive considering the stock FL5 generates less torque at the crank.

Yes on paper it definitely looks wild but keep in mind this intake hasn’t been officially released yet, so final numbers will matter once more data is out from neurtal parties and customers. It is worth taking a chance on IMO.


no real reason to doubt it so far. MST tends to test properly and FL5s are super sensitive to intake design especially with how restrictive the stock setup is (yes I know some say OEM is great so its IMO) Torque readings on modern dynos can also vary a lot and how the dyno calculates.


Its very affordable like their other stuff, it’s honestly pretty refreshing to see a company trying a different approach instead of the usual copy paste intake or stealing designs from other brands Looks promising we’ll know soon enough once more cars hit the rollers.

I leave it up to customers and non bias people to truly give their opinion on parts. Don't listen to companies too much that sell parts cause its all a game. I keep it real

Hey I am actually in the final stages of designing a catted downpipe NO CEL. More info to come but here is all the information about MST downpipe. I should get more updates this week and take pre orders soon.

Most aftermarket downpipe dyno results are tested on tuned cars.

We wanted to answer a real question:

How much power does a downpipe add on a completely stock tune?

So we tested it.



Test vehicle: FL5 Civic Type-R

ECU: 100% stock (no tune)

Intake: MST Intake

What we found

• Peak power difference is small

• Realistic gain: ~8–10 hp

• Max gain (10 hp) (12 nm) around 5000 rpm

• Results were consistent across multiple runs

Honest conclusion:

On a completely stock tune, a downpipe alone does not produce big peak gains.

This is real data — and it’s rarely shared.

What’s the free turbo inlet look like?
I’ll update as info comes in they have been good about updating me quick all I know so far is it comes in black only. Just happy to have a new company doing their best and keeping it affordable. They will be setting up shop on Texas in 2026

Quick update for anyone following the MST FL5 turbo inlet 👇


After completing additional testing, MST has decided to stop the turbo inlet pipe for now while they reassess. The testing showed that the charge pipe configuration was performing better overall, so rather than releasing a product that didn’t offer a clear improvement, they chose to pause it instead of pushing it to market.


While delays are never ideal, this shows MST isn’t interested in selling parts just to sell them — they care about real results, brand reputation, and customer trust.


As an alternative, MST is offering free silicone intercooler hoses, which are very good quality and have tested well as a solid upgrade.


If you had an order placed and this change doesn’t work for you, cancellations are no problem at all — just reach out. If you decide to keep your order open, I’ll also be offering a discount on future SBX Performance orders to help make up for the inconvenience.

Hey yes! I will contact the owner see if he has more clips he can share. Here is the video they just posted of it. They are also releasing a downpipe soon. I truly think out of all the open style intakes this ones is the king. They ran over 50 dyno session with same results. Have a bunch of pre orders for this people are believing in them for sure 👍

No it will not! neither with their up and coming downpipe. Here they just sent me this for you guys! I like that they are being transparent instead of other companies releasing intakes not really answering questions besides it "sounds good". This intake appears to be all around great. Yes some might not like the design but I dont care about that as long as its built right and does the job. People have really been pressing this company on Facebook about stuff and they prove over and over again the data is positive.

Yup totally different design from whats out there. Armaspeed and the 27won intake are both the same style. This one is a totally different design. I will be getting a sample in January sometime so I can show you more.

With the downpipe, intercooler hoses and intake MST made 40 more hp
